Miyuu Kihara's 1st round opponent is Adriana Diaz. We'll see if it leads to WTT success, but Adriana has recently beaten both Satsuki Odo and Shin Yubin in T-League. Miyuu will be looking to bounce back from her loss to Mao Takamori at the WTTTC selection trial.

It's been a long time since we've seen anything from Cederic Nuytinck, but these two were very promising. Tomorrow against Kirill Gerassimenko it will be even more difficult, but we're keeping our fingers crossed!

Adriana is working with Dang Qiu"s father so people are more likely to give her her flowers for some wins over Zhu etc. To many, she will always be an overrated North American. Unfortunate but true.

Well, Takkyu_wa_inochi turned out to be right about Diaz peaking in WR back in 2022 and the other was wrong.

https://results.ittf.link/index.php...rank_seniors___PID[value][]=115009&abc=115009
Player Ranking History
DIAZ Adriana
Career Best*: 9 | Week: 17/2024 (Apr 23rd, 2024)
First Appearance:
...
Top-10: #9 | 2022/Week: 12
It's inevitable with more Chinese and Japanese players playing that other countries will get pushed down the rankings. But Adriana has some impressive wins in '25/'26 including ZYL, CY, WYD, and CIC. And her losses in '25/'26 have come against strong players.

As Takkyu_wa_inochi stated in that thread, it's not about who she beat but to who she lost and how often if CNT players were left out.

BTW, he was also right about CIC's drop in performance.

So in 2025 and 2026. who has she lost to?

And why didn't he simply say that CIC wasn't top 10? Even with her drop in performance?

The truth is that ranking or no ranking, Diaz is a far better player and talent than she often gets credit for and has beaten more than enough players that people would have said she was incapable of beating.

Look for example at Szocs, Takahashi and Diaz. Who is the best and who is the worst? You would be surprised at the answers you would get off optics without research.

As Takkyu_wa_inochi stated in that thread, to remind him in 1 year's time and his stance has turned out to be right almost 4 years on and yours was not. Admit it. That's the least you could do. Stop wasting everyone's time here.

Do I need to remind you again about Szocs?

(Actually...it's best...not to call timeout...because...this Hong Kong doubles player...is really good at crucial points)

Right how? And does this get to my main point? Again, between Szocs, Takahashi and Diaz, who is the best player and why?

When the "overrated" and "only good for doubles" Shin Yubin faced Miu Hirano at the Olympics what happened? Did she defend her seeding? In any case we can get back to the tournament and we can see how overrated Diaz is in 2026.

Looks like Mexico finally has someone to replace Marcos Madrid. Will be interesting to see whether Rogelio Castro competes aggressively in North American ans Pan American competitions as well as the level he has displayed here would put him pretty high anf he is still young.

Damn, these players from the country that can't be named are no doubt dangerous after years of "hunger"...
