Are you using this currently?
Obviously you won't have been using it for too long, as it has only just become available, but I'd be interested to hear your thoughts.
Have you have ever used the previous Keiler and or ORKan II for comparison?

Thanks!
Hi Sedis

I received this a few days ago, so it's cut on my blade and ready to test. I'm hoping to try this at my club this week so will happily give you my initial thoughts on how it plays. I will be using it with 1.8mm sponge.

I havent used ORKan 2 before so cant give you my thoughts on that I'm afraid. I have used normal Keiler and found it to be fast and dangerous. Plays like a SP with the flat skidding effect of the MP. Not everyones cup of tea. I've read good and bad reviews about the original Keiler. I didn't mind it.

I have been using regular Oakan now for over a year and love it !!!! I can do everything with it!!! Brilliant service return !!! Brilliant for chopping !!! But for me personally it's best for attacking either attacking backspin balls or topspin balls I won't be swapping anytime soon ☺️

What blade & sponge thickness of Orkan do you use?

Curiosity got the better of me and I bought a sheet to try out.
The purple sponge is definitely harder and faster than the previous version.
I also think the violet topsheet of Keiler II is a bit more grippy than the red of Keiler.
It plays like a short pip with slightly more disruption than average, there are rubbers classed as short pips, from Dr Neubauer for example, that offer more disruption, but they are not as fast.
The other advantage is due to the speed, it is also more usable away from the table than most short or medium pips.
I'll give it a proper go for a few weeks once the season has finished.

Wait until you have to handle some proper chop. I thought it was an awful rubber, bites on chop more than hurricane. I can't describe in words how disappointed I was.

Can't say I noticed this, I was playing someone who likes to chop or fish the ball back with spin if they end up away from the table.
It did need quite a bit of adjustment with regards to the angle of the blade, which is easy enough when I'm practicing, but will take more time before it becomes instinctive to do in a match.

Interesting, I thought it was the most disappointing rubber I have ever tried. When you hit with it, it plays almost like a normal rubber and just gets countered. I am good at hitting through chop with any pimple, I found this to be the worst pimple I have ever used for this. Also the arc on shots is much too similar to a normal rubber without any of the accepted benefits.
Also it is very boosted so will not be consistent and after 3 or 4 weeks will be a very different beast.
I don't think many players will like this rubber.
Maybe you don't attack chop, possibly its ok then.
I just think it makes no sense.

I always though a harder sponge would make Keiler better, but certainly not this one.

Weird - does that top sheet feel the same as your normal Keiler?
Are you using a different colour or thickness than before and is this on the same blade?

It was more or less what I was expecting, although if it would be worth the amount of time it would take to adjust for essentially a bit more disruption on flat hits is another question.

I found Keiler too much like a SP in 2mm sponge, but i liked it more on faster woods in 1.2mm.
I think it's too spinny and sponge too soft, but i planned to retry it at the end of season.
Much better Orkan II for disruption which i actually use, in the past i used Waran I 2mm, imo much better than Keiler 2mm because harder feeling and much faster.
EDIT: i tried Keiler 2 mm and i detected is more offensive and more stable in attack strokes, from few weeks i tried Keiler II 2 mm and I enjoyed it best, less disruptive than Orkan II but more stable in active play, more fast than Keiler.

I'll add my review from revspin in here aswell with some latest updates from my own experience:
I play this rubber on my butterfly innerforce ZLC 1.8 mm Keiler II and tenergy 05 hard 2.1 mm in the forehand.

This rubber is by far one of the best medium/short pips I have tried. It’s plays more like a modern short pips with a hard sponge which I absolutely love in my backhand. Excellent control if you master it’s speed cause this is one is fast, very fast. Tried it in 2.1 in my backhand but could not control that. The 1.8 was perfect for my allround offensive style of play. This rubber wants to be played active and active blocks give great deception with a ball hardly bouncing up. Passive blocks are also easy but more harmless so place them well else you will be a sitting duck. Short play is great and the rubber is hardly vulnerable for incoming spin. Opening up against backspin is the best shot this rubber can offer in my opinion. Deceptive (strange bounce) and hard to read for your opponent. It will either be a direct point or you get a big chance on the next ball (finish it with your forehand). Creating own spin is doable but don’t expect massive like pips in rubbers but it gives more then the opponent expects it to be. Be careful with smashing since this rubber is very fast and reacts immediately. Start with 80% power before going all out. Weak point is heavy chopping away from the table. You can do one or two if you are cornered but you can’t rely on it. It’s better to loop/push it back with speed to fight your way back to the table. Sometimes it even creates a strange wobble effect due to the soft pips which throws off your opponent (i heard the dms flashback has this even more since it has soft pips combined with softer sponge). Absolutely not a beginners rubber cause you need some skill to control and master this one. If you are the offensive allround player who needs to defend ones in a while ready to take over when your opponent misses the chance then try this one.

Since I play this rubber, good 2-3 months now, I'm more in control in my matches. I dictate the play, make less mistakes, opponent is forced to make more mistakes, win more easily from opponents I used to have more trouble with and it adds loads of fun.

Have been playing with the keiler II on backhand since Oct 2023.
Can back up pretty much everything in this review here. Once you figure out how to block effectively and mix in dead blocks with active drives, it's so much fun to control the rally and play.
Yes, you have to be careful not to be too passive - something I have found now that my level has gone up and I'm playing better opponents.

Also for anyone interested, I've put up a few clips of me playing on my youtube. The keiler II is 1.8mm and purple (i originally only got it cos of the colour lol)

I still have lots to work on with my forehand 😵‍💫
Currently using donic bluefire m2 for the last 2 months on FH. I think I need something suited closer to the table.. any suggestions??

ONE EYED KING.

Yes, it is some pleasure to be a king in the land of the blind. Likewise, the lame man seeking to compete against the footless.

Table tennis offers same observations
--- Long pimpled man is always looking to contend a game with an unskilled competitor always. Same is antispin owner.

I think You need something harder, like Bluefire M1/M1Turbo or Xiom Omega V Asia, softer rubber are too springy.
