If your forearm isn't disproprtionally longer as the upper arm it shouldn't make a difference if your arms are long or short. It could be that your elbow isn't high enough.

In the end, play how you feel the most compfortable with and what works best.
I would say you lose a lot of stability in your strokes that way.
Try and copare both ways, get feedback which is better and decide then.

It feels weird because of the elbow, when trying to loop from belly i have to put my elbow in a awkward position, kinda have to lift my shoulder.
