Spend too much time with tensors. I can blame couches and TT trends, but it was my fault. T05, Xiom Omega V, R45 - too soft, too bouncy, or both. Tensors = high unforced errors. I need to be stuck with limited numbers of strikes, play only in attack and be active. Just rubbers for a specific playstile. It is possible to have an excellent short game with T05 and Vis, I played against such players, but my skills are just not there and take me a lot of time to accept the fact.
Going up in hardness and down in bounciness gives me so much more control, G1, J&H Z52.5. The last one is the spiniest non-sticky rubber that I played.
The idea of hybrid rubbers is to replace well boosted H3, because if somewhere is written "chinese sticky rubber", that means 99% H3. Tensors was introduced as replacement of speed glue boosting, and we have the idea. Many rubbers are advertised as hybrids, but they are not, for example, Dr.N Dominance Spin/Speed Hard. Some of them are sticky as glue and lose liveliness after 1–2 weeks, Victas TDE. Most of them lose stickiness in a month or two. Countless chinese rubbers that pretend to be hybrids or replacements for H3, and in the best case they come close (B3 for spin and durability), but most of them are junk (STN1). If DHS had better QC, the choice of H3 would be a no-brainer. If H3 had the carbon sponge of Xiom J&H... life would be easy.
Looking at the top players, we see very spiny tensors, Zyre 03, D05. Hybrids K3 and D09C. Also, boosted H3, still relevant. That means there is no perfect rubber, just optimal for your specific game.
