I am looking for what may be the philosopher’s stone of backhand rubbers. I need something super grippy, high throw and soft (maybe below 47 degrees of ESN hardness). Bonus points for durability and affordability

Andro Rasanter R45 is a possibility but not cheap.
More affordable and good durability is Yasaka Rakza X

Hi @arbatarmad, perhaps first state what you use now, and how is your impression of it, and why you want to change. Then some people here will be able to relate, and will gladly suggest alternatives...
Hi, yes I should have stated that earlier. I use a battle II national orange sponge on my backhand. I like it but the lower throw angle seems to play against me whenever I am getting tired. I usually really like to loop hard from close to the table using the backhand and I feel that with increasing tiredness I am making errors that probably would be tolerated better by a softer sponged rubber. Uncompromising Grip is an absolute must for me for this reason. For safety -I need a rubber that makes the ball dive bomb hard and shallow when i loop harder

From the point of view of the philosopher you might not actually have a rubber problem but a fitness problem.
I do recognize this effect myself towards the end of a club night my movements are not as fast, my arm is not snapping forward and upwards as in the beginning of the session.

Already about 10 different "best rubbers" have been suggested in this thread , you would really have to buy and try them all but work on your health and fitness can be free.

Best regards
Lodro
P.S. I used to be a philosopher and a poet - but now I am just a bum.

One of my friends have used Tronix ACC during summer and have not complained about the grip when it was humid in the training hall. For example Hybrid MK is muck worse in humid conditions.
significant grip deterioration in highly humid halls has been my experience with the hybrid mk too

Rakza Z has a high throw, good tackiness, and is durable. it has a harder sponge, around 50+ but a softer top sheet, so it doesn't 'feel' hard, well at least not no me, but everyone is different!!
Rakza Z could be worth looking into.

Donic Baracuda is 45 degree hardness on the ESN hardness scale. It is lower priced than most modern ESN rubber and it relatively durable. It has a very high throw and super grippy. Fits your bill to a T.

Xiom Vega Europe also fits the description to a T but it is softer compared to Baracuda.
