For me, Golden Viscaria is the same thing as the use of serial codes to claim one blade plays better than another. There are no physical properties of a blade apart from the technique of the user once the blade is well built and consistent.

And there I thought the golden Viscaria had a layer of gold plate where otherwise the Carbon would be 🤔

For one video where ZJK says something pretty much everyone should know (pros have custom BTY rackets), you can't brush over the number of copied / stolen videos, and errors / misleading logic and information that the guy shares.

I contact him because he stole a video from my friend. His answer? They all do it.

He doesn't even give credit, while this would not hurt his channel at all (as well as being the right thing to do!)

Not overlooking anything so much as saying that video was the reason this thread was resuscitated and I liked the video enough to share it. I pretty much never watch ERT stuff or share it because I consider him to be a bit of a scumbag.

Em Rat Thich's key contribution to online ping pong comes from his knowledge of the Chinese language (I have never seen him write in Chinese, but it is a reasonable assumption that he knows it well). This means that he can share materials from the Chinese and East Asian web to the wider world.

PAST: I think it is wrong to assert that he only steals content (but more on that later). It looked like he used to compile videos himself, adding his own explanations and self-drawn diagrams. He can be very lucid in his explanations. He also used to do his own research. I remember when he looked into the chemicals used in booster oil, for example.

Another thing that I think is rather special about Em Rat Thich is the deductive type explanations he used to use - explaining things from a set of fundamental principles, some of which are:
power from the ground; relax, explode, relax; Very succinct expression of principles. They seem to me to have substance. I am not saying these axioms are his own creation - I don't know. But they are a feature of his instruction method.

I might be wrong but I didn't notice other online coaches using this "principled" approach. They tended to explain each individual step in a given action, without capturing the whole process succinctly into principles. So this is what sets Em Rat Thich apart and makes him special.

I very much like Em Rat Thich's explanations and think online ping pong info is better because of them.

PRESENT: It feels like he has adequately expressed the principals of his philosophy of ping pong and without new theory has maybe kinda dried up. Nowadays the content seems to be more shallow. Reposting videos, or listing stuff without insight (for example what blades various players use). Who knows, maybe he has moved to focus on other things in life.

Re: the use and abuse of other people's materials. Definitely happens. Exploiting the gap between the Internets of east and west. I am not making excuses for this.
