What do you think of the Vega X rubbers?

At the moment I have an Acuda S1 (FH) and Acuda S2 (BH), would Vega X rubbers be a good choice for me?

Feel free to express your opinion on these, whether Vega X or any other rubbers in this series (Pro, Japan, Europe).

Many thanks for the help!

The Vega Series, especially Pro, Japan, Europe are no brainers for me if you play at an intermediate level. And the X is supposedly an successor to the Pro. Some say thats true, some prefer the Pro. As always its preference. If you can safe some money with Vega you should just try the one you would think suit you and your game the most.
My Question would be, why do want to change in the first place?

It is amazing for new players. I gave one to a new player and worked wonders for him.

Good question. I would say i'm tired to play with my Acuda. Plus these are no longer available in my region/province.
I'm curious to try The Vega series !

I think its really good. If you like S1, i don't see any reason why you wouldn't like Vega X

For FH, I will stick to X and Vega China. V China is half tacky so it gives your FH extra spin and control . Vega China is like 90% of D09C for far less $

I played Vega China on BH too it’s easy enough. But Vega X, Pro and China are all good for BH.

I have tried Vega X on both Forehand and Backhand. It is a quite a good rubber, and at this price point it would be a good choice. It lasted close to 4 months for me with 8-10 hours/week of training/games. For me, I like to feel the rubber bite on the ball and personally, I felt that there are rubbers like Hexer Powergrip, Victas V>15 etc. which offer this feel in a much better way for me.
Having said that, if Vega X is cheaper due to any offer then I can surely consider it.

For me the Vega X stands out a bit from the Vega line, because - or so I believe - it has kind of higher pips, and so it can produce really nice spin, but also is more spin sensitive. I played it on the BH (for FH it's too soft), and actually I preferred the Omega 7 Pro - spin was enough and blocking was better... That said, I think it is a good quality rubber, someone may prefer it to anything else, it's just that someone is not me... Cheers.

Played Vega X couple of sessions on BH side. To me it feels like a bit softer MX-S. Lower throw, loop against backspin go low and long but require engagement. When done right often wins a point straight away or return is often awkward enough to kill with FH. Spin is good enough, passive blocks can easily go to the net. Comparing to Glayzer (not 09c) it's a bit more powerful but heavier.

Demanding, rewarding if you play attacking game.

Relatively fast and spinny but it I do not like it at all as it does not feel linear or controllable/predictable. Harder linear rubbers like Stiga Mantra Pro H serves me much better.

trust me, you don't win points because of the rubber itself. it helps, sure, but it is never "oh, great rubber, just won a point because of it" ...

cannot agree it is demanding. rewarding, yes, because when you engage the whole rubber, you can get a nice shot out of it, but couldn't say it is demanding. it is not too fast, thus with really nice control, didn't find it problematic for incoming spin. and, because it is quite catapulty, it is quite forgiving and helps you when in trouble.

I didn't say anything like that. Just mediocre shots tolerated by Rakza 7 for example would not work with Vega X or MX-S. Quality active shots are indeed rewarded
well:

"When done right often wins a point straight away or return is often awkward enough to kill with FH."

it reads like the rubber wins you a point.

I played with Rakza 7. a lot. and it is pretty similar to Vega X. which I played a lot, too.
except if we have different understanding of what a mediocre shot is. but still, both are quite forgiving rubbers.

cannot comment on MX-S because I never played with it.

just adding my thoughts because I finally got to use Vega X on my own blade (previously always used on clubmates racket)

vega X is such a nice rubber, the worst part about it is that its "boring" because it doesnt excel at anything. it is balanced and easy to play, makes good spin and good speed if you play closer to the table. so many times I heard people saying it feels bouncy and spin sensitive but I didnt feel like that at all. It was easy to perform any technique with the vega x

Obviously I played with omega 7 pro for a long time now, and these rubbers are quite similar. However, omega 7 pro has a lower arc and is much more aggressive for blocking. omega 7 pro is also better for adding power / going for finishers. and omega 7 pro feels slightly harder than vega x, vega x kind of "gives in" more if you let the ball sink into the sponge. I think these characteristics + price performance ratio make vega x a fanstastic rubber for beginners and intermediate players and together with the regular glayzer these two rubbers are what I would recommend to most amateurs currently.

I did not like the Xiom vega x, the vega pro is great. The spin and speed is the same of x and pro. But holding, grip and dwell is in my expierence much butter on the Vega pro.
My training partner usually blocks my backhand topspins over, but with the X this was not the case. I could not produce high quality topspin with it.
With Dignics, Rakza 7, G1 and Vega pro this is the case.

Overall, weird that so many people have such different experiences with this rubber right?

To me the Vega Pro is a really good rubber but it has one feature that I dislike. It plays AMAZING for the first 2 sessions and then gets noticeably softer. Most people like the vega pro when it gets softer, but for me it was the opposite, I prefer it in its original state

To be honest, Vega Pro and Vega X are both great. I dont think either is better or worse, some prefer the pro, some prefer the X. I would recommend the Vega X to a newer player simply because I think it is better with the plastic ball. there is nothing wrong with giving a newer player rakza 7, vega pro etc. the result will almost always be the same, they can develop their strokes. I just like Vega X and Glayzer because they are cheap, easily available and modern upgrades of the 2008-2010 era rubbers
