But if you don't remove the plastic film, the rubber cannot benefit so much from the boostering effect as the film prevents expansion of the rubber.
yes and no
the no side is, the expansion is the sponge, not the topsheet :)

I know pros who agree to both sides

Nah, that thin plastic won't be able to stop the expansion of the sponge. Even with the plastic on, the rubber still curls like crazy. The plastic is there to keep the topsheet from oxidizing, it has nothing to do with the expansion.

As for me, I boosted with the plastic. You never know if it's your bad day and the booster dripped onto your topsheet, ruining that expensive Hurricane.

Well, think about this: The total duration the rubber is played and thus being exposed to oxygen in its entire life time (approximately 12 months if treated well) is WAY longer than the time required for boosting. So this means you can neglect the time for boosting; and therefore the effect of the plastic foil to prevent the top sheet from being oxidized can be neglected as well.

rubber = top sheet + sponge :)
and if you notice, the film gets loose too, so not to worry :)

unless anyone feels the film is holding back anything here? hehehe

PS. I used very very little oil

I have had a different experience. I once played a new sheet of Hurricane 3 for two days for eight hours each. After that, the surface was completely oxidized. However, if I place a rubber protection film over the rubber during each little break, not much oxidation occurs. So it seems to make a difference how long the rubber is exposed to air without a break.
