Training in Ostrava

Hi everyone,

I'm currently training with the team at TTC Ostrava in Czech Republic for the next 3 weeks in the leadup to the WTTC in Dusseldorf, hopefully I can find some time to post some updates here as I go.

The team here is really solid, they will play the Czech Extraliga finals starting this weekend so I will try and get some video there too.

I spent my first couple of days practicing with Petr Korbel, Thomas Tregler and Jakub Figel. This afternoon my practice is with Karakasevic so I'm looking forward to that. The training hall and team here are relatively new, this is their first season, and Korbel is looking to build his academy here into a strong training center. There are also a handful of young kids playing which is cool to see!

Here is Korbel practicing with Chiang Hung-Chieh. Fukuhara is also here but I only saw her briefly on the first day, looks like she isn't really playing at the moment.

This new Petr Korbel's club is TTC Ostrava 2016. A member of Champins League Men this season. One of kids is player who is No. 1 or 2 on WR on age U13. Some other players are training there ( Iveta Vacenovska, Lubomir Jancarik, Felipe Olivares etc. ), it's possible to have training sessions there. Great location on the centre of Ostrava where lives many Czech players. On Friday at 6 p.m. will be the first match on Czech League Final, on Saturday at 6 p.m. will be the second match. Both online on Youtube ( channel TTC Ostrava 2016 ). First match livestream here

Had a fantastic time at the first two legs of the extraliga finals. This was last night, real clutch victory for the team before they head for the away match tomorrow. Such a brilliant atmosphere from the spectators!

I've been in Litovel for the past couple of days visiting my old training partner who used to live in New Zealand. Has been really great. Today I go back to Ostrava and have 4-5 more days of training before I leave to Prague and then on to Dusseldorf!

My last morning in training here. Below is a small clip for the Butterfly SK7 Korbel review which I will be preparing after WTTC.

I actually averted a crisis the other day lol we played soccer as a warm-up for the afternoon training session and I took a bit of a tumble. I was kind of fumbling the ball and my foot landed on top of the ball, body weight going one way and ball going the other. My knee took the twist and for a good few minutes I thought I could have well buggered my chances to play WTTC here.

I iced it for an hour and the swelling went down and had it strapped for the next 24 hours. I will likely have to strap below my knee just for support during my matches in Germany but at least it won't take me out of the competition
