Little knowledge is a dangerous thing, you must know. URC ITTF has now produced a misleading instruction regarding the use of sandwich rubbers. Not all wise teachings that come from ITTF URC, sorry.

Hi, dear URC team
Herewith, please be informed of a proper rule interpretation, as follows

📛 Rule 3.2.1.3. explicitly forbids using bastard sandwich rubbers. The main purpose of the rule is to prevent players from using a sandwich rubber unless approved by ITTF.
Presently, ITTF does not allow a separate sponge to be combined with topsheet other than by means of a factory . Those hand-made sandwich combination shall never be used for official competitions.

How do you know what sponges the factory produces the rubbers with? The ITTF equipment section doesn't list sponges that are approved, as far as I can see. Only topsheets.
