so our first match is tonight
we doing the best preparation we can.

eager to experience the "fun" aspect of UTT.
I think we need more UTT bosses in the world - which is basically extremely wealthy families who are fond of table tennis and making the whole competition 5 stars.

There also have a junior portion, with 2 kids per team - living with the team, traveling and training with the team. This is an extremely great move for the development.
Imagine MLTT doing the same, or even the likes of any top leagues in the world.
So thumps up to UTT.

to the international viewers - facebook is the option.
and hope you support our team.

Indian owners always have the most investment when it comes to cricket twenty20 (T20/T10) leagues. If you look outside of the Indian Premier League (SA20/South Africa, Caribbean Premier League/West Indies, International League T20/UAE, The Hundred/England and the T10 Leagues most of the team owners are Indian. Imagine if these Indian owners own some of the table tennis teams outside of India and maybe the income might not be as good as CTTSL or UTT but the hidden benefits that can be gain as well with owners paying more under the table than their auction price.

I feel like for table tennis to be more profitable and players can do it as a full time job will require rich owners to own the teams and may need to adopt the cricket t20 leagues model on having different leagues in different parts of the world in a short amount of time 2-3 weeks than a long 6-9 month season.

you are right
just so you know, IPL is in the same hotel with us (we in a very fancy hotel)
and I walk passed Kohli yesterday.

It is very good that corporate are involved with sports - not just gov.
this is why Chinese table tennis is a success.

In China the gov does a lot of the fundamental funding.
but the leagues and corporate tournaments are based on corporate funding, so this create some career outside of CNT and players will continue to strive hard and train they butt off to make a career one day.

Mind you, some of these corporate players earn more money than Bundesliga players (refering to those just playing in 2 day corporate tournaments every weekend)

That’s good that the IPL teams are at the same hotel as you. Security is going to be top notch there. I think the security they have is the presidential security. So the police/military protects the players and when the players leave the hotel they escort them to the stadium and back to the hotel while they are on the team bus.

Do the UTT players get the same type of security as the IPL players with the police/military escorting them to the stadium and back to hotel as well.

Not during escorting, but we do have secretary in our stadium
and i saw the amount of extra security they called in with the start of the tournament (they had like a security meeting and it was a lot of people)

we had a team dinner outside, and Siqi and myself had to come back to hotel early, one of the Indian national players was kind enough to order uber and join us. So we didn't need to do that ourself.
Really appreciated the hospitality, even from teammates.

I think it would be great to add a link to the Facebook page and explain how to watch the tournament. Adding it to your signature and the initial post would be awesome.
I spent quite a bit of time to find the broadcast on Facebook and it was laggy :/

If any of you are suffering from video quality issues with casting from the Facebook app to the TV use the Google Chrome browser to cast the live video onto the tv. Quality is so much better now.

Fan Siqi came in clutch and was the best player for her team but unlucky that her team lost. That was such a close match 7-8.
Losing the match isn't decisive in UTT regular season, the league table is based on game wins first. So with a tight 7-8 it leaves both clubs in similar spots.

its a short match, and anything can happen
no time to adapt, so its a very even playing field.

just rewatched the match twice, time to head to bed.

Adam calling you out by nickname was quite funny to hear! 🤣

There really seems to be a great energy in UTT events, that is something they did really well with the format and presentation. It's fantastic for you to be enjoying it from that close to the action!

While Adam lives in Taiwan, he and I are both really busy and the last time we met was 2 year ago.

I am normally close to the action, but haven't really been involved with dugout (players corner) for many years.
I choose to focus more on the behind the scenes, but they wanted me on the dugout A to be a translator for the coaches, B, I can also speak directly to Siqi.

I'm starting to know our team mates better and also helped them briefly during training sessions.
Overall, the format is fun, but it really challenging and thumbs up to UTT for really making all this happen. There are many tournaments and competition in the world that needs to learn from UTT for sure.

We patiently await the Youtube appearances of @Shine.
After many displays of self-assured ignorance he has graduated from "there's no way anybody could have CNT-related contacts" to "your direct sources who share their experience with you in confidence aren't reliable, but public statements put out by the team are", so we're making progress!

True
But money is nothing without those behind the scene project managers.
I was speaking to one of the main project managers last night, totally different level!
