Man, its gonna be all personal preference on whether you prefer outer or inner carbon blades, koto or limba surface layers, a looper or smasher, or are a fh or bh dominant player.

I feel like majority of EJers cant answer this question since they switch so much lol. They might have a favorite between the two, but play better with the opposite.

I don’t own either blade, but there seems to be a pattern that powerful forehand attackers like Ma Long and Wang Chuqin play with W968, and powerful backhand attackers like Fan Zhendong or Lin Shidong play with Golden Viscaria.
Yeah I’ve noticed this too but doesn’t the golden viscaria have a powerful forehand attack still?

I’ve got a Q and S968 and a Golden vis. They’re both great blades and both work well for FH and BH dominant players. The 968 is safer, softer and easier to play in my view. I love the vis but I’m less successful with it in match play (obviously this is related to my playing ability - I’m an intermediate player who plays 10h/week with coaching) I also feel that the more controlled blade gives me more rubber options. In short, both amazing but quite different.

Yeah of course, it will have the same power on both sides. Viscaria is just more balanced towards the handle, which makes it more suited quick backhands. And W968 is more head heavy, which makes for a harder swing on the forehand.

I'm really surprised more people don't use the Koto-inner carbon style blades. I feel they really do combine the responsiveness of Viscaria with the catch-and-throw of W968.

Sanwei 75 inner is simply excellent on fh and bh.

Danish national champion @Cadoia praised the 75 inner.

I look forward to trying out Yinhe 03 as well.

I prefer Golden Vis as I love outer structure with Koto as I have also strong and spiny BH. But frankly speaking I haven’t tried T05/t19 setup ot 968 type of blade. Only t19 on BH and H3 on FH which I have love or hate depends on the day. I feel more confident playing Viscaria but to need to check the same setup on 968 to be sure.

Exactly — there is no blade that gives a better backhand than the Viscaria. I own both a Q968 and a Viscaria, and I’m a backhand-oriented player. Whenever I face a tough opponent and need my backhand to win the match, I have to use the Viscaria.
