I used to play you at the old Topspin but I won't reveal my true identity yet ha ha...

The last time I played Vincent I also lost in the fifth. The problem with me playing him is that my forehand loop is weak compared to his consistent blocking. Just can't get through his defense. He and I are same age, and for attacker we fade faster than defender.

My issues were not hitting through Vincent, I could hit it by him wide or spin it real heavy. My problems were reading Vincent's ball. He has strange good touch and undetectable change of direction. Very easy to misread direction depth lack of spin. Easy to commit to the wrong ball off time Balance and zone.

For those US based people's not knowing tt monsters level, let's go for 1800 plus minus whatever. Not ironed out exact plans, prolly roll into Swan ttc around 4 pm Sat. Gotta do a chicken n beer hustle at Hyundae ttc on Friday first.

I would feel highly disappointed if you didn't make it to Swan TTC this Sat around 4-5 PM, I should be back up from LA by then, might even spend Friday in San Jose and thunder run the Korean joints if LA fails.

I think Der_ is an evil sandbagger and doesn't want anyone to know or understand why or how. I watched him make Robert Chen exert... he has been as high as 2250 and Robert swore up and down that Der_ was at least 2100 on 3 hours of sleep and 5 hours of driving. (AND playing 7 hours the prior day losing every match the entire day but one) But Der_'s highest rating looks like it is around 1970. (Edit - recent USATT re-processing has dropped that to 1960s)

By the way, when I say he is a sandbagger, I don't mean he does stuff like that for selfish reasons. (like to win prize money) I think he does it because he is playing some up and coming kid and he wants the kid to win and go on in the tournament or something. I can't figure it out, but to sound like Yoga Bera about it, I think he is better than he is.

Uhm, Ghost Rider, I play up and coming kids I usaully crush them, it is the crust 1800+ adult crowd that is sticky tough. Don't mess with a geezer.

Look at my match record Aug/Sep 2015 when I first moved into No. Virginia and did District championships. I played vs up and coming SP chopper kid Eric Lee with his typical hammer dad. I laid a 3-0 smackdown so bad on the kid as a 1750 rated 50 lb overweight dude he was ready to fill the Potomac. (Not because he was scared of me or sad to lose (kid is a WARRIOR) he was afraid of DAD, who dutifully took him outside and I reckon got the riot act x10,000 read to him for losing to a fat old 1750 dude when kid is 1900+ ... UNACCEPTABLE) well at least that is how I read it. Eric is now a solid 2000+ and improving wrecking crew so watch out.

That is how I treat young kids, don't feel sorry for them at all, they are trying to destroy my game too.

I DO NOT sandbag points in a tourney. Either the under rated 1800+ posse is gunna get me sometimes or I miss just never entered events to get rating points scalps (like say vs the dude I made a thread about to join here, he made it to 2100 and I have a very HIGH win percentage vs him in the club.)

I have many shots and a topspin that many advanced 2200-2400 players lack, but it is entirely fair I am rated at the level I am, I have deficiencies (even one or two is enough to fail to gain) rightfully classifying me at my level. Sanctioned match results and video do not lie.

tropical, U B ailing or not, you will need to have a hit with me or at least watch me live to understand why people feel I am 200+ points higher level than my rating, but truthfully am rated pretty much correct.

Orange County ? we have a brand new state of the art facility just opened about 6 months, 20 tables, all brand new Butterfly and red floor too of course OCTTA .

I drive 4-5+ hrs to get to LA (It took Sammy Hagar 15 hrs to get to LA in the 80s) maybe you could drive 1 hr to downtown LA Korea town to link up for a parade of fun, I'm gunna rock the Korean club Fri night..

I checked the Swan calendar , they will have 5 tables reserved for a team event from 5:30 to 9:30. So I would say we better either plan for a different time or go to a different club or meet at Swan and if becomes too crowded saunter over to some other club ... take your pick guys ... just found this and thought of getting it out asap.

Man if you were in the Torrance/Redondo Beach area I would really like to have another crack at returning your serves. If you remember back in summer of 2015 at the LA Convention Center with the Special Olympics table tennis site, with some down time I got a chance to play a 3 game match with your Korean friend and also play a single 11 point game with you. You had some pretty nasty serves I recall. That Nexy racket I borrowed from you to play wasn't all that bad....
