What bats /rubbers do Mima Ito/ Mui Horano use

Does anyone know what blades/ rubber combinations that the Japanese women use. ie. Mima Ito Mui Hirano etc.

According to here, Miu Hirano's equipment is Stiga custom clipper wood, Tenergy 05 for FH and Tenergy 64 for BH.

Many Japanese players use high tension rubber on both sides, along with a blade that isn't too stiff nor soft. Players with more refined strokes like Kasumi Ishikawa uses Chinese style rubbers on their forehand.

Every year JTTA releases a list of what the players use. Maybe someone can find that list, but I remember that Mima Ito uses Nittaku Acoustic Carbon + Moristo SP on the BH.

As of May, 2018,

Hirano uses the Clipper Wood with Dianchi D and T64.

Ito plays with Acoustic Carbon ST, Fastarc G-1 and Moristo SP in thick.

"Thick" means 1.8mm on the Nittaku scale, and "super thick" is their max sponge at 2.0mm on paper, but I'm not sure what their actual max thickness would be in the real world, or their tolerance range.


But this got me wondering Zeio (I know your post was from May), did the "Thick" description apply only to her Moristo, or also the G-1?

Kasumi Ishikawa uses a Viscaria.

Hina Hayata also used a Viscaria recently but she went back to using a Liu Shiwen ZLF.

The sinking effect is more pronounced in thinner sponges. Raw pips are typically among the fastest so people tend to choose thinner sponges for the effect.
