Hi, I was originally planning on getting my coach to glue me my new rubbers for my blade but i want to try it for myself for the first time. I have 4 rubbers i want to glue for 2 separate racket combos. What glues do you recommend, i am currently juggling between dhs15 or butterfly free chack. Which one is better or do you recommend another one. Also, is it easy to glue, what do i need and maybe easy steps? Thanks!

The rubbers i am planning to glue are tenergy 05, xiom omega 7 pro, dhs h3 prov and the dawei 388-1 long pips. I think i will get dhs 15 glue as it will be easier for me to access but if it is not worth compared to butterfly free chack or others, i can just wait and order online

I am currently using PimplePark Viscoso and gotta say I am satisfied, but then again it is the only glue I have used for myself and it was cheap, does anyone know the "shelf life" for table tennis glue btw? I used it a few days ago after it had been unused for several months, sure it was a bit thicker and harder to get out on the paddle and rubber but the result was fine and my paddle felt like it had a new life but I am not sure if it will last for another go or be good for it...

I use DHS 15. I have bought a Butterfly blade that was set up for me. Zero issues with the glue, but it was a lot more difficult to remove, which risks damaging your blade when you change rubbers. The DHS 15 is easy to remove, and I have never had any issues with it. Being that it is your first attempt, this would be an advantage. If your first few goes are not perfect (get a glue ball, etc), just let it dry and peel it off and start again. If you get a shringe, you can measure exactly how much glue you put on each layer for consistency as well.

If you're new to gluing I would buy Rev. 3 medium viscosity. I have not come across any other glue that gives you as much time before the glue starts to "gel" or partially dry. It's generally a very good glue.

EDIT: I mean the regular version of Rev.3 medium viscosity, not the odourless version.

That is good advice. It took me a bit to get used to DHS 15 as it dries quickly.

I have observed , free chack especially if bty rubbers r there , gives nice feel and spin.

so to get best of the both the worlds.

1 layer on rubber ; - free chack pro 2
1 layer on top of it - rev no 3 ( to allow ease of removal of glue)

blade
1 layer of free chack pro 2 ( optional)
1 layer of rev no 3 ( must)

try this formula :)

Never realised you can mix glues.... mind-blowing!!

I started with Revolution No.3 medium and have to agree it's a good starter glue due to its easy spreadability and ease of removing from your blade. From the sponge...not as much. (I've heard the original formula is better but I've only used the odor-free formulation.) Now I use DHS No.15. I feel it has slightly stronger adhesion, adds maybe just the slightest bit of bounce, and peels even more cleanly from the blade. I recently ran low on both and had to use a bit of each for a glue job and it turned out just fine.

For removing it from the rubber, after much experimentation I've found 2-3 thick layers of Tear Mender on top of the old glue makes it much easier to peel off cleanly with minimal damage to the sponge. Tear Mender is much cheaper than adding layers of precious DHS No.15, but I've read mixed reviews of it as a glue by itself so I only use it for removal.
