What is the difference of DHS Hurricane 8 VS Hurricane 8-80 rubber.

I've recently switched to H8-80 37° unboosted on my backhand.

One thing that I'm noticing, and it is confirmed by my club opponents, is that the shots (loops, push, blocks, whatever...) coming from this rubber are more difficult to handle for my opponent.

This is something remarkable and worth noting.

Tried it, didn't like it. Yes it can spin like a Hurricane but its slow as molasses.

You could probably be right. BH is so subjective. Delicate matter. Glayzer 09C is a great BH rubber for sure. Now which rubber do you use on BH?

I am using Yinhe Moon 12, a Victas V15 clone, I quit G09c since the tacky lasts only 5-6 weeks

I have not tested Glayzer09C durability, 5-6 weeks is disappointing given the premium price (44€). I find Rakza Z 2.0mm also a viable alternative on BH, it cost 35€ and tackyness lasts a lot
more than 5-6 weeks.

Moon 12 is not hybrid or tacky and for the moment I find tacky/hybrid superior for control and performance on BH

I switched from Moon 12 to Rxton 3 blue and I am quite happy with it. Not very hard either, feels closer to 38d of other brands (Yinhe/DHS etc.) despite its official hardness is 40d.

A recent experience with H8 and H8-80
H8 39d black, very lightweight 62g uncut, about 45g cut. Not much tacky, about equal to eurojap hybrids out of the box, the topsheet feels elastic. With 2 layers of Seamoon it was like a cannon. Long trajectory, that unfortunately doesn't suit my FH as I attack a lot over the table including underspin balls and here I like elastic topsheets and shorter arcs. But still must be a good rubber for looping from mid-far zone if you like lower throw.

H8-80 37d red, very heavy 72g uncut. How do they manage to make a softer sponge much heavier? 🤦Very tacky, the ball just refused to bounce initially after 1 layer of Seamoon. The topsheet feels harder. On serve receive you either push it with a sharp movement or loop hard, otherwise it will go to the net. Perhaps I should take off the protective sheet at let it air for a bit. On BH I prefer more direct rubbers.

I'm trying H8-80 38deg on my BH. I boosted mine with 2 layers of Haifu black oil. So far it's slower than D09C with low effort shots, but if I can get a full swing then the top end speed is the same if not faster than D09C. I don't need to modify my strokes at all. Not a bad alternative for D09C if you have an active BH style, especially consider the price. I got mine for around $14. One thing though, it's very heavy and can alter the feeling of your bat completely. Due to its weight, my FH seems more powerful now, which is a big plus, but I get tired way faster, lol.

I am wondering is there anything similar to H8-80 but lighter? From tacky rubbers on BH I tried CJ-8000 a while agoand hated it, just too slow. Big Dipper and Jupiter have harder topsheets, so I skip them for BH.

I don't mind if it won't last 2 years 😅

Currently I mess around with all China setup from Sanwei 75 inner, Battle 3 and H8-80 and it's like 10 grams heavier than I'd like it to be, otherwise it would be a very nice setup.

My Hurricane 8 39 degrees weighs 51g cut and my Hurricane 8-80 37 degrees weighs 46. It seems that DHS has poor quality control

Yep, it sucks. You may even order rubbers from different Ali stores and still they may come from the same warehouse.

45-48g would be reasonable for H8-80

I recently put h8-80 37 unboosted on my backhand and it is fantastic. It is slower, but with a fast blade there is no issues with speed. The spin and control it gives it also fantastic.
It's so good that I'm considering getting the 38° for my forehand. If only they sold it in 39° as well!

I'd just boost it once with 1 layer and forget, possibly even before applying a glue layer
