I always thought I preferred lighter setups since my first blade was around 85g. The total weight of my beginner setups were <190g. Lately, been changing rubbers and experimenting and I realized I like the heavier setups I have going right now. They feel more stable and more controlled. Now when I go to a lighter setup like my MK Carbon (Jupiter 3, AK47) - 182g, it just feels like a toy. Here are a few of my current setups / weights:

W968 (H3N BS, D09C) - 199g
FZD ALC (H3N BS, D09C) - 195g
TMXi Pro (H3N BS, O7P) - 197g
ZQH 90 (Rakza Z, H8-80) - 199g
LYJ SZLC (H3N BS, D09C) - 198g
H2 (H3N BS, D05) - 192g
Viscaria (BD, D05) - 190g
Dynasty Carbon (G1, O7P) - 192g

I tried a setup that was around 207g and that just felt too heavy and tiresome. I think my ideal weight is between 195-200g.

180g - 195g with a weight distribution towards the bottom.
With lower weight higher weight center.

The weight center may actually be more important than the total weight. Don’t disregard this.

Why did you switch to Z2? How do you like Z2 compared to other rubbers?
I was using H3,N 37, but the rubber done, so try new rubber, next BH will be D09C, already bought from on sale. Not going to try those dhs star series, not big different compared to H 3 N.
P.S. I m OK with Z2, but the sponge is garbage, arc too flat.

my blade was 96gms carbonado 290 with rubbers was 194 l got it down to 185 by glueing like this lost 8gms in weight also l sanded blade a bit to compact size .. this gap helps to use the 3rd finger control much better when fh serving esp on fast serves .

That second setup was the one I was planning to get(FZD Alc) identical to FZD's current setup. ITS SO HEAVY??! May I please know the hardness and thickness of the hurricane, what glue and booster u used and how many layers. Sorry, I know it's a lot to ask.

Can you post pictures of the H2? And did you select weight when you buying? I'm thinking to get one since the sun ying sha , Wang chu wing W968 haven't out yet. And the golden W968 not better than the W968.

Oh forgot to mention, my FZD ALC is 88g. Pro commonly use heavier blades and their setup is often in the 190s.

FZD used to use golden viscaria which is >90g at baseline

I read that post, that's why I asked you. Thanks for the reply.
I think I need to change H2 BH to D09C. Can be a little too bouncy on receives since carbon activates easily at low strength. At high strength, it’s not a problem because the limba layer provides enough dwell to control it.
