Why do you play Table Tennis?

says Mr. super ZLC
Iv been on this forum for about a month or more and I really find the people here interesting and fun to interact with.

I play table tennis as a getaway. I play to take my anger or sorrow out. It`s like my way of saying that I won't lose motivation. My friends and family don't understand why I like this sport and don't want me to play it so often. I always tell them, "It just makes me happy" and that's why I play.

That's enough for me. I wanted to ask the people of this forum, you guys, why you play, what got you into the sport, and mainly, how you feel while playing table tennis.

I would appreciate if you guys answered these questions. I hope I get to know more people in this forum.

badminton court rental is a lot of money

table tennis it is
I currently play table tennis in a badminton court and the disparity in prices makes the owner (a badminton guy) almost want to shut down the table tennis section lol.

Did not know badminton was so popular among table tennis fans. As the basic Asian that I am my family loves badminton too.

I played table tennis as a kid. It is the only sport I could possibly be competitive in at my age/health status. It is also both fun and exasperating. I will never reach the level that I cannot get destroyed.
Idk what you mean by the last part but I still appreciate the reply. It's lucky that you started playing as a kid. i wish I played since I was a kid, I started late so I'm not enjoying as much as others.

Relieves stress for me. Luckily, I am surrounded by supportive and helpful clubmates. Learning about different rubbers makes it even more interesting :) and yeah tournaments too..... the rush the tactics.... i can't get enough
tournaments are so fun but I hate that I lost so early on my first one. I receive 0 support from the people around me. you are really lucky.

I actually don't play badminton lol. But the table tennis club where I play placed us on a badminton court. The facility has more badminton and pickleball.

Maybe because it is played indoors. yk like some other sports like squash and basketball. I also do work really hard to improve. I consistently play and do footwork training as often as I can.

i am starting to feel a bit of pain on my right knee, got any tips?

2,5 yrs ago I found another job. Many played tabletennis during lunch. So I tried too. I couldn’t play normally. I played so badly no one wanted to play against me.
Half a year later there was a table tennis try out at a club in my hometown. I went there and joined the club and learned to love it.

I’ve been playing there for 1,5 years now.
Made some progress but now my colleagues don’t want to play with me because most of them can’t win.
🤔
Our club does a lot of activities for young children. Clinics for kids, for schools, visiting schools etc. We’ve been growing as a club and after corona ended we needed the new members. I really love to help the club and not long ago I’ve become member of the board.

As a player I still have a lot to learn and it’s a sport where you even can enjoy the play of your opponent when he scores a fabulous point. Where do you find that?
