I had the chance to meet Asuka Sakai in person finally, 14 years after seeing his phenomenal viral serve and subsequent Guinness World Record! It's just crazy, 15 meters per second, only fractionally slower than the blink of a human eye!

Hope you enjoy this little ace session I set up at the recent MLTT in Florida haha

What is his success rate making this serve?
He said 1/30 but it was better than that for sure. The Crocs mascot he landed it first serve, Angela I think in about 3 serves. It was all over for the whole lineup in 6-7 minutes 😂

Amazing, thanks for posting Matt!

Wow, 1/30? You'd think he could slow it down just slightly, to vastly improve the margin of error.
Where’s the fun in that though haha

I don't understand 1/30

for every one he gets in, 29 he will make an error?

or 1/30 direct winning point
or?
He said 1/30 executed but his success rate was much higher than that it was more like 1/6 on average I would say

ok
because 1/30 is very low, unless his expectations is very high, ie, landing exact spot at exact speed and anything off that is a failed shot.

Like I said it wasn’t actually 1/30 I think he was exaggerating. At that speed it’s either hit or miss he goes full hamm every attempt.

Someone needs to talk him into pulling it out in a match when he's got a big lead lol

I've seen worse not get called lol
The Lebesson dance has gone on for decades... oh, I am focusing on toss height so let me make it apples to apples lol... low toss servers, it really comes down to the umpire.

The throw is less than 16cm high....

Cheers

I'm not so sure its less than 16cm. Definitely close, but not clearly less than if you look at the slow mo.
