My flights are booked already, just waiting for tickets now. Hopefully they won't be more expensive than last yr! 🤞
Really looking fwd to it already, it really is a fantastic event, the German fans create a great atmosphere and are incredibly knowledgeable!

Big wasted opportunity for Hashimoto to not come considering that there are no chinese players registered (so far). Although its worth noting that she will need semifinals and above finish (350 points) to gain points moving forward since China Smash R16 will bring her next lowest event to 175, which is what you get for a quarterfinals finish at champions.

Then again, a semifinals finish at Frankfurt is entirely possible seeing how she won't meet Ito, Odo, or Miwa until then. In contrast, SYS, WMY, Ito, and Miwa are all potential R16 opponents at Champions Montpellier. I guess Dentsu contractual obligations come first, and they've done wonders for her career already.

Since Hashimoto is sponsored by Denso she is obliged to play for Denso Polaris. In fact, the next matches are scheduled for November, 4th and 8th, which coincides with the Champions Frankfurt. It’s unfortunate, but the number of matches she needs to play for Denso Polaris is fewer than the number of matches she would have to play for a T-League team (unless the contract would be designed in her favour).

So anyone knows why so much animosity between those 2 ?
It seems that if Adam Bobrow is to be believed, it is just Truls finding motivation to compete hard. And I suspect it is an outcome of Dima mentoring, Dima is also into such antics against compatriots lol.

THE FACTS REMAIN THERE.

Table tennis is the most beloved pastime with casual folks in France and Germany. Swedens do prefer outdoor sports like golf and soccer far over table tennis.

Basketball is some a public craze in China, far over table tennis. The China Chief Leader is a great fan for basketball.

its pretty cool we go from one champions to another, exciting! ready for the Hugo/Truls matchup in the semis...

and maybe Jha/Duda????
Players are not robots, tables, halls and balls are usually different and this usually hurts the players who went deep in the prior event as they have less time to adjust to the new settings. So all the semifinalists from Montpellier who are playing here have a decent risk of a first round loss depending on how easy or hard it is to adapt to the changes. Their opponents who lost and traveled out earlier have more time.
