The only ways she could have forfeited was being physically unable to play or if the opposition was Chinese. The obligation is always to try and in this case against lesser opposition, workarounds might have been possible. But in TT, the opponent can hit the ball too.Had WCQ and SYS decided to not play the final would they have had to refund tickets to the spectators?
It must be the video frame rate, as this video mimics the real on site feel of ball speed and trajectory better than most table tennis video.
LYJ just can't seem to get it right. Strange for someone with perhaps the best timing on his BH.LYJ was doing so good until he lost that deuce game. After that, he looked really lost and didn't even go past 5 points
There is another thing - there is an opponent and the opponent might just have played better the longer the game went.LYJ just can't seem to get it right. Strange for someone with perhaps the best timing on his BH.
You did. I wonder whether he has healed from his back issues. But across the board, the unforunate finals not withstanding, Shin and Lim ans Lim especially played some outstanding shots. There was never a doubt who the most effective player on the court was when he played and that is saying a lot in matchups vs Lin Shidong , WCQ and SoraDamn. Is nobody gonna talk about how insane LJH played in the XD semifinal? The guy just went godmode after Game 1. I don't watch TT that often and I didn't know him before I watched that semi. I was so impressed.
Bringing it up when they lose with Sun Yingsha unable to hit a forehand or move into position for one has a very different meaning.WCQ actually admitted SYS was the lead of the pair in a CCTV interview after Paris 2024.
Truth, the third set was therefore crucial. There is another thing - there is an opponent and the opponent might just have played better the longer the game went.
I thought he switched back to dignics 05?If Felix had a bit more experience he'd won this one IMO. He did a great job switching it up after being down 3-1, opening up with spin instead of power, and using a smaller motion and taking a bit off the ball during BH rallies. Tomo repeated dumped the spinny openings into the net while repeatedly hit long against the shorter, slower BH shots from Felix. Unfortunately for Felix, nerves got to him in the 7th and he made a couple of critical mistakes opening up and countering with power instead of sticking to the plan, each time meeting with thunderous counters from Tomo. It's natural for people to stick to what they know best when players get nervous.
As always, I like to take equipment into consideration. By most accounts Zyre appears to be an extremely fast and spinny but difficult to control rubber. It seems to fit Tomo's style well with his close to the table counter play, so I wonder if the key against it is to force the Zyre user to use his own power and not giving him power to borrow.
You are probably thinking of LYJ on backhand.I thought he switched back to dignics 05?
LOLFans: Who's the pillar of the pair?
WCQ: Not me.
The previous two WTT Finals were held in Fukuoka, Japan. This year, the event was held in Hong Kong. WTT CEO Steve Dainton, in an interview, stated that the Hong Kong Finals far exceeded expectations, noting that the first time the event was held in Hong Kong was a great success. "Table tennis is a conservative and traditional sport, and we felt there were some risks in holding the competition in a large venue like the Hong Kong Coliseum. However, the past three days of competition, even on weekdays, were packed, which was beyond our expectations. While the previous two years in Japan were successful, the first time the Finals were held in Hong Kong, in terms of audience numbers, government support, and fan experience, we have achieved a high level, which gives us more confidence in hosting the event in Hong Kong." He continued, expressing his surprise at being able to hold the competition at the Hong Kong Coliseum. "I knew beforehand that the Hong Kong Coliseum was mainly used for concerts, so we were very surprised that it was ultimately chosen. In addition, the shape and specifications of the stadium are very suitable for table tennis competitions, and we are very satisfied. However, we also know about the new Kai Tak venue, and we will visit it later."
