I think they meant a 35% reduction instead. SF and QF rounds get a boost of points across the board, whereas R16/R32/R64 get a select boost depending on the tournaments.

Updated the ranking penalties decision and appealing process to specify its steps and timelines.
Updated the incidents table to add the ITTF World Table Tennis Championships and ITTF World Cup as events with
directly penalty for cancellations after the entries' cancellation deadline, consider any cancellations after the draw
as walkovers, and discern between the three types of disqualifications with different consequences.
Updated the ranking protection procedure to include the details about the application of the protection once
approved.

The ITTF Executive Board has also approved adjustments to the points distribution system for Senior rankings at ITTF and WTT events. The revised structure awards more points for middle rounds whilst maintaining the same points allocation for winners and first-round exits. This modification aims to create greater mobility within the rankings and reward players who consistently advance through multiple rounds of competition, rather than awarding high positions based on a single win that could keep a player ranked highly for an entire year.

Points for the second round of Champions have been increased from 80 to 140 pts. Points for the first round remain at 15 pts.

7. TABLE TENNIS REVIEW (TTR)
An electronic Table Tennis Review system (TTR) may be used, and it will come into effect when an appeal
is made against a decision of a responsible match official on a question of fact. TTR, with the help of highly
accurate technology, will provide a replay of the circumstances leading to a decision subject to a review,
with the final decision to the appeal made by the TTR Official.
TTR, where available, shall be established in line with the latest TTR Guidelines which include TTR specific
rules, procedures and other details.
The latest TTR Guidelines are made available to players and other participants in due time and players are
informed before the Event and/or match starts whether TTR Is available at an Event and on which tables.

Compared to the first PDF for the original TTR (TTR_ITTF_2019_11.pdf, 12/5/2019, 10:02:01 AM), the second PDF (TTR_ITTF_2019_11_v2.pdf, 3/30/2020, 1:50:46 PM) was the first time 30° was clearly spelled out.

That's right. 30° had never been spelled out before TTR in 2024 (first link below), not in the original TTR in 2019 [second link below], and certainly not even in the Handbook for Match Officials, which has only stated "it must rise within a few degrees of vertical...". In the latest, 18th edition published in 2/2026, the reference to the old 45° rule has even been removed altogether. For reference, diagrams 10.3.1 and 10.3.2 (renamed to 10.3.1.1 and 10.3.1.2 from 15th edition and onwards) were added in 14th edition published in 12/2010.

For Singapore Smash 2026, it looks like the original principle on fault service is finally enforced, that TTR can only be requested by the players after an umpire has made a service call.

And the ump faulted Boll but the TTR overruled it. Very bad impression on the ump and the sport. They need to figure out how to handle service faults before putting TTR back on the table. For the time being, TTR should be limited to edge calls and perhaps let calls.

How did you come to this conclusion? Towards the end of the match Walther proactively called TTR on Hugo's serve

That appears to be the case as players have severely cut down on calling serves themselves compared to before, but we need to get our hand on the TTR Guidelines that are only available to players and other participants to tell for sure.

奥运会强制使用TTR技术。奥运会组委会应通过国际乒联认可的供应商提供该技术。

世锦赛、单打/混团世界杯、世青赛组委会应承担TTR实施的费用，且TTR供应商须经国际乒联批准。

【TTR回放官员】
当乒乓球回放系统(TTR)启用时，主裁判或助理裁判就事实问题作出的判罚，可由TTR官员根据3.2.7.1推翻。

I feel like players can take advantage of this by just pretending to miss hit the ball when the serve happens and just use TTR since the umpire would award the point to your opponent or they can take their chance and continue the rally until you end up losing the point then request TTR for illegal serve.
