Xiom Tau II

I hope so. It's mysterious, Tau 2 was and is still the tackiest rubber produced in Germany, and even Xiom has failed to maintain the tackiness on newer rubbers (Omega China, J&H....) Is it because they don't want to be this tacky anymore or because the material isn't available anymore and will never be again ?
Unfortunately it seems its the trend in new rubbers to go non tacky. That's why I've started to gravitate towards Chinese rubbers lately. I'm not convinced non tacky is better than tacky.

When I hit with a tacky rubber I get the feeling the ball locks into the rubber and I can manipulate it much better than non tacky rubbers. When I hit with non tacky rubbers I get the feeling if I don't have perfect technique and acceleration the ball will decouple and I lose all control.

I don't know, there was the trend of hybrid rubbers, advertising them as tacky like a chinese rubber but they were at most only a little tacky (can lift the ball for less than a half sec), why they didn't put as much tack as the Tau 2 then ?

That's a good question. The Joola Golden Tango (not the PS version) is the tackiest ESN rubber I can think off, and that too appears to be discontinued. A shame, because it is also a very good rubber.
