Yasaka Myth (New Collection?)

Hey everyone,

I was browsing the official Yasaka website (yasakatabletennis.com) looking for the Ma Lin Extra Offensive and couldn't find it anywhere. After some digging, I discovered something interesting: Yasaka has apparently rebranded the entire Ma Lin blade series to "Myth."

The new lineup on their official site now shows:
- **Myth Extra Offensive** (formerly Ma Lin Extra Offensive / YEO)
- **Myth Carbon** (formerly Ma Lin Carbon)
- **Myth Soft Carbon** (formerly Ma Lin Soft Carbon)
- **Myth Extra Special** (formerly Ma Lin Extra Special)

What's strange is that Yasaka made no official announcement about this change — at least none that I could find. The product photos appear to be the same, suggesting the blades themselves haven't changed, just the branding.

This isn't unprecedented for Yasaka. They did something similar with the Gatien series years ago, which is now sold without the player's name. The Ma Lin series has been around since before the 2008 Olympics, so perhaps the sponsorship/licensing agreement with Ma Lin has ended after all these years.

A few questions for the community:

1. Has anyone seen an official statement from Yasaka about this change?
2. For those who have purchased Yasaka blades recently — are they still shipping with "Ma Lin" branding or the new "Myth" name?
3. Do you think the specs will remain identical, or could Yasaka use this as an opportunity to tweak the blades?

Third-party retailers like TableTennis11, Megaspin, and Paddle Palace still show the Ma Lin versions in stock, so if you want one with the original branding, now might be the time to grab it before they switch over.

Curious to hear if anyone else noticed this or has more information!

On the Japanese website, Yasaka still has the collection listed as Ma Lin, but none of the blades are available. If I had to guess, Ma Lin likely terminated his contract with them so he could use his likeness somewhere else.

These blades are still good blades although they were not designed for the current balls. If I were Yasaka I would add a thicker Ma Lin Carbon and an affordable, made in Sweden, outer carbon Viscaria-style blade

on the contrary, you could say the ones with Ma Lin branding are now vintage, it won't appreciate in value like BTY products, but still something.

The Myth blades are online visible on their website and in stock. As expected, just a rebranding of the old Ma Lin series and a minor redesign. Kudo's to Yasaka that they did not use this change to increase the prices.
The Ma Lin series are now discounted on TT11 and other websites and I might pick up the YEO and Carbon myself

Design wise they still look bad though maybe a bit better than the Ma Lin, but still this design is like 30 years ago

In my opinion, Ma Lin series (now Myth series) are very good blades in term of performance to price ratio. I think Yasaka is a fair brand, they do not overcharge although carrying big name player.

I have Ma Lin Extra Offensive, Ma Lin Carbon and Ma Lin Soft Carbon. All are good blades with the same head size, so it is easy to interchange rubbers on them.
