And here we go with the problem of Chinese low budget brands: inconsistent production! You will never find 90g with 1277hz and 88g with 1371hz with a high quality brand. It’s like Roulette to buy those brands: when you buy it, you don’t know, whether you get an off minus or an off blade although the weight is the same or even lower

I don’t think it has to do with inconsistent production. I will be like this with all wood products. Every price of wood is unique.

Agree, I'm curious how "high budget" brands are different in such measurements. I'm pretty sure that nobody throughs too low or too high frequency Viscaria into firepit.

I honestly don’t think it doesn’t matter which brand it is. The quality difference is more visible in surface finnishing and glue job. I

For blade I would like to always see wood types, thickness, weight, size and a frequency reading. Maybe weight distribution too. Pretty much the data that hipnotic lists for his blades.
But this would be impossible since some of these parameters vary too much. One way would be to write then on the package and let the buyer choose. But this would be a pain for a large store too.

Difference in frequency of over 100hz happens frequently with the best brands. It's just wood variation.

Nittaku Acoustic anywhere from 1205hz to 1335hz.

Viscaria anywhere from 1327hz to 1507hz (a whole 180hz difference).

Check out the compendium and you will see countless more examples.

Did it occur to anyone that the object hitting the wood could have influence on the frequency heard by the measuring device ?

Two of my friends use Viscaria. One is 83g 1348hz, the other one is 90g 1407hz. My Butterfly Innerforce ALC Layer weight is 87g 1348hz, the other I tested in the store was 92g 1400hz, couple days ago my friend bought Butterfly Innerforce ALC Layer 77g 1338hz

I've heard about Pro 05 that some of them are very flexy but some are stiff like BTY Ovcharov.
I had the same with DHS B2, a heavier and thicker one was much flexier than a thinner and lighter specimen.

My BTY Innerforce ALC Layer 88g 1370Hz

Wood veneers are indeed different but it's manufacturer's job to select suitable veneers to keep the spread at some reasonable level.

It shouldn't, unless it somehow affects the testing process (e.g. the instrument measures the object hitting the wood instead of the wood).

I thought Fang Bo was the same size as Long 5.

Why do you think the Pro 05 is same size as Fang Bo but smaller than Long 5?
I just googled, and appareantly Fang Bo is also slightly larger than usual, in that case Pro 05 is slightly smaller than both - but still the "normal" size that BTY uses.

I see... I'm interested in this blade...but I wish it was the larger size.
