Yasaka rising dragon is a rubber in my eyes I would recommend for highly trained attackers who play the spin game. It delivers a good contrast of both speed and spin with great control, I used this on the mazunov butterfly blade and do reccomend it on quick blades , a shout to jarvis sports for delivering a sample of this rubber , yasaka is a great brand and is still developing , this rubber was a remarkable suprise, I will uploading a video soon, this is highly recommended!

Tibhar Evolution MX-P
Weight: 69 grams uncut
Harness: Medium/Hard
Speed: Fast
Spin: High
Blade used: Adidas Avenger 5 blade

Initial Look

The Evolution rubber series is completely different in comparison to the Q series by Tibhar. The topsheet of the Evolution is a deep red colour whereas the Q series a light red color. The deep red sponge is from ESN Germany and is often believed to be a Japanese sponge.

Sponge comparison between MX-P, FX-P, EL-P

Out of all three sponges from the Evolution series the MX-P is the hardest sponge which is the one at the bottom of the pile in the picture below. The sponge feels medium to hard. The MX-P is the hardest out of the series with FX-P being the softest. The EL-P had a medium sponge hardness. The MX-P had the largest pores of all three with the EL-P having the smallest and the FX-P in between.

Speed

I glued the MX-P rubber to the Adidas Avenger 5 blade which is a 5 ply wood blade, even still the MX-P felt like a rocket. Out of all 3 the rubber is definitely the fastest in the Evolution series. It is faster than a Tenergy 64 for example. The rubber felt hard when hitting the ball producing a medium to high trajectory when away from the table. The power of my shots did not change even if If I took a step off from the table.

Spin

Out of the 3 rubbers, the EL-P was the easiest to spin the ball with, although the MX-P produced greater spin however more effort was needed. With the MX-P, to produce its maximum spin a higher level of play was needed to fully utilize its power in term of speed and spin on attacks. The MX-P away from the table hit with a lot of power and speed, I found this rubber a little to fast for my level and would say its a professional rubber for pro's. I found the EL-P gave me greater control away from the table. The MX-P rubber surprised me when I pushed and served the ball as i could get a lot of spin and it was easier, similar to using a hard Chinese rubber however the MX-P is not tacky.

Control and inside the table game

I found the MX-P quite tricky for control as its very fast, I had to adjust to its speed. In shots such as receiving serves and drop shots it was bouncy and required a precise touch. It was excellent for pushing though.

Blocking

The MX-P produced very fast blocks as expected. The rubber could produce very fast punch blocks which is cool if you can control it.

Conclusion:

The MX-P is definitely an advanced rubber and is a beast! it is very fast, powerful and spinny when you apply the right technique. If you are a counter looper or want to have a counter attacking game the MX-P a great choice of rubber.

How does Evolution MX-P compare to Tenergy 05?

The Tibhar Evolution MX-P is faster than Tenergy however the spin is 10% less. I think the Evolution rubbers are a lot more durable than Tenergy. Interestingly about this rubber is that it makes a nice "thock" when you hit it, even in max. It is interesting because it is not at all a soft rubber. It is actually quite hard, and a much louder rubber than Tenergy.

Pros
  • Great speed
  • Controllable
  • Good spin
These rubbers allowed me to impart a decent amount of spin on the ball and are quite fast. They encouraged me to play an aggressive game while being controllable enough for this to work. I can produce decent topspin on normal shots with these rubbers and I can also topspin backspin shots. There is enough control to be able to block and play close to the net when I need to, then open up and attack.

I used this blade with Yasaka Razka 7 2.0mm on both sides and the blade was amazing. I was able to play fast but controlled shots from close to mid distance from the table while still producing decent amounts of topspin. This blade gave me phenomenal control when blocking or playing close to the net. It has an amazing smash. Overall, I felt that this blade complemented the Razka 7 rubbers and is a great blade. The only bad thing is the flared handle is slightly too short and can be uncomfortable at times

So after using the FX-P for three months, I've decided to write a short review of the rubber.

Like Der_Echte said, this rubber seems to pair better with more flexier blades. This was not controllable for on my ZJK ALC and I had much better spin on the Earth 1. The ball was just rocketing out of the blade with poor spin. It pairs much better with a blade, where the contact time is longer. Keep in mind that I mainly used it for my backhand.

1. Serve and receive

Serves have very good spin and receiving is a piece of cake with this rubber. I really liked pushing long with this rubber on my backhand. The short push and the banana flip were also very good with this rubber.

2. Opening attack

You can't do a hard topspin with this rubber while opening against backhand. You have a wait patiently and spin the ball as it starts to drop. If you can do that, you will have a lot of spin. However, I still feel that I was able to generate more spin with harder rubbers but your technique has to be good for that. My weakness is actually the forehand and I've always had a knack for the backhand stroke. Therefore, I would recommend this as a backhand rubber for those who want something to support their relatively weaker backhand.

3. Blocking

Blocking is incredibly easy with this rubber. Coming from harder rubbers, I was surprised at how much margin for error this rubber gives me. You just need to get the timing and angle sort of ok, and the block works well.

I found chop-blocking better with harder rubbers but that's such a minor part of my game that it doesn't even matter.

4. Half distance

The rubber really shines from a step or two behind the table. You can spin the ball like crazy from off the table. I was sometimes surprised when I hit a ball perhaps a meter over the net and it still dropped down and hit the opponent's side. You won't be able to overpower your opponent with speed like with the T64 but you can overpower him with spin!

5. Counter-attacking

I found harder rubbers better at this. I counter with topspin and I have more precision with harder rubbers.

Overall

I think a great rubber for those who block and flat hit from the backhand or for those who play a little further back with lots of topspin. Doesn't suit shorter, explosive strokes that much. More suited for longer strokes with good acceleration.

I've been using the Barwell Fleet for over 12 months and I love it. I have the flared handle and it feels great in my hands. After attaching two sheets of Rakza 7 rubbers initially to it, I felt that I had more control and could spin the ball better than when I played with the Yasaka Extra Special blade. It's powerful, fast, yet controllable. I find that my short game has improved with this blade. Looping underspin has been easier and I can finish a point with a powerful loop kill with ease when the opportunity presents itself. The one thing I especially like about this BF blade is the feel when hitting, pushing, blocking or looping. The sensation is there when I strike the ball correctly; I see the ball land on the other side with the intended spin, speed and power.

So in summary the Barwell Fleet is a great blade for me because it imparts a unique feel, powerful for looping yet quite controllable.

Best forehand rubber. You can serve very well, you can counterloop, you can play fast but still have enough spin on the ball. Control is not the best for blocking, but hey, don't block with your forehand, counterloop! ;)

I have changed recently for the backhand from a Tenergy 05 to Tenergy 80 as it is more controlable and better for blocking. I can do anything I want with it, I love the rubber :)

I am playing with this blade already for 7 years I think, I had to change it once, but it was my own fault for not using varnish or hairspray.

It is very fast, it has a great touch for looping, it is the best looping blade I played with. At the beginning I played with two tenergy 05 on the blade and also boosting them. I have a great control with my forehand, no problem, but with the backhand I have to admit it was kind of a disaster for blocking! I changed to Tenergy 80 on the backhand, thickness 1.7 and no booster, and it is still very, very fast. But blocking is now okay.

If you want to loop all the time and play a mix between far from the table and close, it is the best blade. If you like to block, I would not recommend it

I found this blade is really solid for CH.Pen and not so head heavy in mine. To make this blade durable when changing the rubber, use 2 layers Stiga Attach Power Glue. The glue is specialize for this blade. This blade can do anything. It is one of the best blade I had. For me, it is an OFF+ blade. Use it and no need to search other blades, except if there is another better blade.

After I buy The Rosewood NCT V, I'm sad that the trajectory of the Rosewood is mdium low. Just hours ago I started to order the Intensity NCT Penhold. When it arrives I immediately glue my H3Prov and T64 into it and test it. Amazing Penhold blade. Its good even with RPB. Good for serves, shorts, flicks, drives, open loops, counter loops, forehand counter topspin and drop shots. The only less thing is power. This blade has controllable power that makes me like it. Only need more effort when blocking and smashing. Has ultra amount of dwell time that makes me create a large amount of spin. Has many margin for error and my friends came and and practice with me, gets so many difficulties. This blade is also ultra light. Amazing penhold blade from Stiga. Thats why Xu Xin using this ultimate weapon.

I switch from my Ebenholz NCT V cuz I found myself problems to drive with the Ebenholz so when I buy T64, I also order this blade instead. This blade is just in my desire. Good for RPB Penhold Chinese Style Drive play. It fix all my problem. Suitable with my DHS H3 Prov Blue Sponge and T64. Its also very light. I also can create a lot of spin on serves and spin on anything because of the amazing amount of dwell time. Also this blade is better for RPB penhold than the Ebenholz in my opinion.

Well my T64 arrives faster than I thought. The T64 that I just ordered just came and I gonna do a simple review of it. First of all, it feels slightly softer than T05 and T80. It us the fastest in the Tenergy series and the least spin. When doing some testing of this rubber, I use it on my BH. It is good for blocking and drives. Now I know why many Chinese top players use T64 on their BH. Cuz they like to do mid-distance drives with their BH. My playing style is the same. Flicks with thus rubber are marvelous. I recommend to use this rubber with a high trajectory blade so can keep precision in close and far distance. Note this !! this rubber is good for counter-drive not counter-attack. BH Open ups are also good. I also like my BH 3rd and 5th ball attacks. I usually use FH on 3rd balls but my BH also works. Thats what I can review.

Just buy this rubber to pair my Ebenholz NCT V. For me, this rubber only powerful on my BH side. But the spin are ok. Counter attacks are the best in the Tenergy series. Touch and Flicks too. This rubber is also not recommended for drives. The ball always goes high. But thats the good thing in mid-distance.

Just buy this blade in the PEN Version. First of all, when started using this I got the best feeling. I can do anything. Loop, Powerloops, Power Topspins. Counters are the dream to heavens. Its hard, but has good dwell time. Pair it with T80 in the BH are the best. Still using this blade with my H3 Prov Blue Sponge. My racket becomes the best in my club. I oove this blade better than the Emerald VPS or even the Intensity Carbon and Non-Carbon. This blade is also better than the Rosewood series. Thats all I can review about this amazing blade from Stiga.

Evolution MX-P has what i was looking for my FH : a rubber hard enough to perform fast top-spins but having a nice dwell time for easy blocking and counter-hitting.
I find this balance very difficult to find. When the dwell time is ok, I usually feel the rubber is too soft.

On top of that, MX-P is amazing for serves. Killerspintt wrote : "You will love the rubber when it comes to serves". Oh yes you will.
You safely find any speed and placement for some very spinny serves.
The grip is great and enduring.

The high throw makes lifting heavy underspin a lot easier than the majority of rubbers.
My previous FH rubber was Target Ultim 50 by Cornilleau. That's a real rocket (the fastest rubber I ever played with) and a spin machine.
I loved it. The main downside is the low throw : perform a top spin on a heavy back spin ball is exhausting. And you do not have a choice : it has to be a slow and very spinny stroke.
It is way easier with MX-P. And you get versatility. You can go slow and spinny or fast and strong.

The factory boost is a bit too strong for me. Once unpacked, i let the rubber rest for several weeks to get the speed and feeling i want.

[Edit 11-30-2017] : I can play with MX-P right of the package on Tibhar Samsonov Force Pro Black Edition.
The speed is awesome while keeping great control.
