The 2nd leg of the European Champions League final took place today on 27th May 2011. The final saw German Borussia Dusseldorf face Russian Orenburg.

The teams line up were Dusseldorf's Timo Boll, Patrick Baum and Christian Suss. Orenburg's side was Smirnov, Ovtcharov, and Samsonov.

First Match

The opening match got underway in the second leg which saw Orenburg's Vladimir Samsonov fave Christian Suss. After the first leg meeting of these two players, Suss won comfortably however this time things were different. Samsonov was focussed from the very beginning containing all of Suss shots. Suss was still maintaining an incredible form and the match went to the fifth set. The fifth set took off to a flying start with both players levelling as each point progressed. Vladimir Samsonov took a 3 point lead to make it 8-5. Suss made some cruicial points to level again at 8-8 The croud was silent, both players focussed and determined to win the next point. It was Vladimir to pull through and he won the set 11-9. This was the first victory for Orenburg in the final. Samsonov wins 3-2 (3-11, 11-9, 11-5, 8-11, 11-9)

2nd Match

With Orenburg winning a close first match their next task was ever so more difficult. Dusseldolf's and world number 2 Timo Boll stepped into the caught to face Orenburg's Dimitrij Ovtcharov. Dimitrij fought his hardest to keep Orenburg's dream alive winning the first set 12-10. Timo had other ideas, and maintained a strong level securing the match 3-1 giving Borussia Dusseldorf there first win in the 2nd leg. Timo won 3-1 (10-12, 11-8, 5-11, 8-11)

3rd and 4th Match as exhibition matches

Due to Boll's victory it made it impossible for Orenburg to come back and win the final. As Dusseldorf secured a 3-0 win in the first leg and winning a match in the 2nd leg it meant Borussia Dusseldorf were the European Champions League winners!

For the audience and fans, the 3rd and fourth matches were played. Patrick Baum lost to Alexy Smirnov in an unexpected 3-2 loss with scores 3-2: 11-8, 8-11, 11-5, 10-12, 11-7). The best two Europeans faced one another, who better then Timo Boll and Vladimir Samsonov. Samsonov won 3-0 with scores 11-7, 12-10, 11-7.

So to conclude, Borussia Dusseldorf are European Champions League Winners for a 3rd consecutive time in a row since 2009. Orenbury put up a good fight however due to the 3-0 defeat in the first leg it was'nt meant to be and Borussia's victory today have made them the 2011 European Champions League Champion's!
