The fourteenth round of the Chinese Super League got underway on the 31[SUP]tst[/SUP] July 2011 completing the first phase of the competition. There were some very interesting matches and results. Read on to find out who came out on top of the division after the first phase of the 14 rounds in China super league.

Shandong 2-3 Bayi (Match of the night – Zhang Jike vs Yan An)
Hao Yingchao achieved Bayi’s first point on the score sheet as he beat the young risen star Fang Bo.
Zhang Jike showed who was boss in the second match of the night as the WTTC 2011 champion defeated Yan An 3-0 with scores 14-12, 11-6 and 11-8. Shandong were levelled at 1-1 with Bayi
In the third match saw Bayi’s doubles pairing Zhang Chao and Fang Bo defeat Yan An and Zhou Yu in a devastating 3-0 win.
In the fourth match Zhang Jike returned to the court to level out the scores again as he defeated his opponent Hou Yingchao by 3 sets to 1.
The last match of the night was between Joo Se Hyuk of Shandong and Bay’s Zhou Yu. Zhou Yu took off to an amazing start as he went 2-0 up in sets. However Joo fought on and won the next set. Zhou Yu returned to the table and finished of Joo to confirm Bayis victory of the night.
Ninbo 1-3 Jinzhou (Match of the night – Wang Liqin vs Wang Jianjun)
In the opening match, Ningbo’s main man Ma Long was not at present therefore Wang Jianjun replaced him. Wang Jianjun came up against the mighty Wang Liqin. Wang Liqin took control of the situation and defeated Wang Jianjun by 3 sets to 1.
In the second match of the night, Ningbo’s Ji Tian levelled the match score as he defeated Shang Kun in another 3 sets to 1 victory with scores 13-11,11-6,5-11 and 11-6.
In the doubles match Shang Kun paired up with Zhai Yiming. They both defeated Ningbo’s pairing of Wang Jianjun and Wu Hao by 3 games to 2.
In the fourth match Wang Liqin posted a 3-1 win over Ji Tian to confirm Jinzhou’s 3-1 victory.
Jiangsu 2-3 Bazhou (Match of the night – Xu Xin vs Lei Zhenhua)
Bazhou’s Xu Xin started of very pro actively in the opening match as he eased past Lei Zhenhua in a 3-0 victory with scores 11-9, 11-1, and 11-3.
In the second match Jiangsu’s Chen Qi used his experience to overcome Cui Qinglei. Chen Qi in five sets.
The doubles match went underway with Jiangsu’s Lin Chen and Yixiong getting an unexpected win over Xu Xin and Li Ping. This put Jiangsu into a 2-1 lead over the Bazhou titans.
Cui Qinglei had a lot to play for in the fourth match of the night for Bazhou. Cui faced inform Lei Zhenhua and defeated him a very close battle. Cui of Bazhou levelled the overall match score at 2-2.
It was all to play for now. Both teams tied at 2-2 in the final phase of the Chinese super league 2011. The match was between Lin Chen and Cheng Jingqi. It was tense. The match went all the way to the fifth set. Chen Jingqi of Bazhou managed to win the vital points at deuce to win the fifth set 13-11.
Zhejiang 3-0 Sichuan (Match of the night – Ma Lin vs Xu Ruifeng)
With Timo Boll absent from Zhejiang’s team did Sichuan stand a chance?
On this occasion no as Ma Lin defeated Xu Ruifeng in 5 sets.
In the second match Hao Shuai comfortably beat Qiu Yike in 3 sets.
The third match of the night Zhejiang’s doubles pairing of Ma Lin and Xu Hui defeated Zhang Yu and Xu Ruifeing 3-0.
Results after the first phase of the 14 rounds
Over the 14 rounds, Bayi, Zhejiang and Shandong all achieved eleven wins and three losses. Although this, Bayi is ranked first, with Zhejiang coming in second and Shandong in at third position.
Bazhou is also competing in the top 4 contenders to win the title as they have won ten games and lost four.
Ningo is top of the relegation group as they have five wins and nine losses to their belt.
Coming in at sixth position is Jinzhou with four wins and ten losses.
The relegation group is also completed with Sichuan with three wins and Jiangsu with one win.
