We at Table Tennis Daily wanted to update forum members on the value of a moderated forum. TableTennisDaily is free to use. But there are rules for participating in the forum. If a member appears to be causing trouble and primarily focused on posting comments to instigate arguments or create antagonism between members, the TTD Moderation Team will try to choose an appropriate course of action to get a divisive member to behave more respectfully to other members.

This site is not a news source or media outlet. We do not censor specific viewpoints. But if someone is creating a nuisance, the moderation team reserves the right to delete offensive comments. Generally, the viewpoint presented is not the issue. Instead the tone or confrontational attitude of the member trying to derail the content of the forum.

We do this to keep the forum a fun and friendly place to discuss the sport we all obviously love: Table Tennis.

And we recognize that there are several excellent TT forums, each of which have slightly different “personalities”.

We encourage table tennis enthusiasts to enjoy their time on the TTD forum. But please try and be respectful of other members.

If you wanted to look at the full content of the rules of the forum they can be found in this thread: https://www.tabletennisdaily.com/forum/help/rules/

Please understand if forum rules are not met, mods will ban users where appropriate. Bans will be lifted once the user fully acknowledges the forum rules. Please understand that we only ban 0.01% of our community! You are all amazing and thanks for all the fantastic contribution you make to the forums.

Happy pinging,

Thanks,
TTD

Hello, is the link still alive? I would like to know more about the forum rules.

That link has been pulled out of the archives and is back up and working.

Thanks! (…) The rules are imho not clear about the use of links. Links are imho what makes a forum more useful to the surfing readers. Maybe we could discuss/clarify/exemplify which kind of links are allowed to be posted/shared/promoted by the regular forum member?

Are explicit links to special deals/offers on TT-specialized vendor sales sites, together with citing a coupon code, allowed?
Are explicit links to sales pages of a TT-related item on more general sales sites like AliX, Amazon, Ebay, Taobao, Temu, etc allowed?
Are affiliate links to TT-related shop offers by a dealer, brand, manufacturer, etc explicitly allowed?
Are links to TT-related products on the brand's or manufacturer's website, i.e. catalog pages (often without pricing), allowed?
Are links to threads on any other forum of the internets allowed, as long as they are relevant to the topic?
What about links to social media posts (Youtube, Instagram, Facebook) by TT-related business owners (incl. big brands, influencers, trainers, academies, etc) who, in the end, try to earn a buck from the visitors?

Or, what about mentioning the dealer/site/company/name/source, in one way or another, but without posting any link?, for example "i researched prices and found the imho best deal at the Stanley Pong Distributor S.A. (Italy) site, at which i finally pulled the trigger".

It seems from what you've written that you want to use the forum exclusively for marketing.
How do you think that will be received?
Like really??

@Sims Interesting to see how a reader could misinterpret my intentions(?) when i posted that text. So no, i doht want to do marketing. Marketing is done by marketing dpt's of companies/brands who want to increase sales of a product which was produced by a manufacturing site, say in China. I am an individual private end consumer like any other EJ, coming from other "equipment hobbies" and their respective forums.

I guess it is safe to point to dealer's names like Contra, AliX shops, while not posting any links?

Why would i want to share such info/names? -- The more info/details, the more useful the post.

Put simply I have posted links to all manner of TT stuff over the last decade and never had a single warning. And I must admit I have even made the odd naughty remark.

If you're doing thins honestly for the right reason you'll will be fine. No need to think of the rules tbh

Yup, I misunderstood then.
I was basing it the assumption that you wanted to start posting and linking so much stuff.
I've never had an issue before. I've posted links to training videos or equipment when ppl asked for advice on what to buy or where.
I guess it's an open situation where it's usually obvious why something is being posted or linked. If it's to help members or answer questions then no issue. Using the forum for promotion and sales is (I believe) not really wanted.
