REVERSE for me because I am left handed and people hate it, look at Michael Maze, his serves cause so much trouble!

Me too, I find reverse are tricky for a right hander. I serve with a more subdued version of tomahawk action to the opponents FH.

With reverse serving it is harder for the opponent to see the difference between more side-backspin/more side-topspin. Also the 'behind the body' serves are pretty good, not because they are behind the body, but also because the difference in back/topspin is hard to see.

Well, for reverse serving: In this vid Maze starts off with reverse serves, and from 1:59 he starts doing 'normal', non-reverse serves.
I also don't know what subdued means though

Best serve and receive game is Ma Lin's and there is no doubt about that . Yes he takes more risk and sometimes faults but then the moments of magic are far too many to count those.

Otherwise he would be nowhere in today's world , because of his declining fitness his middle game has deteriorated . Just the fact that he can still survive against most plalyers in the top echelon today proves he is the best serve and receive player ever. How else could he still take games off the likes of Wang Hao , Zhang Jike , Ma Long etc.

Waldner is the second for me , but he was more effective when hiding was legal.

... next comes everybody else.

There has been many great servers:

Waldner, Liu Guoliang, Ma Lin, Schlager just to name a few greats, but now I think Jun Mizutani, Xu Xin and Zhang Jike have the best serves...I especially idolise Zhang Jike's reverse pendulum serve and Mizutani's FH pendulum serve, so much control on the spin, deception and placement of the serve that it's ridiculous!
