Normally I'm against boosting. I was hoping it be playable without boosting, but i highly doubt it.
My favorite FH rubber all time was Provincial H3, 2 layers Faloco. But I hate the boosting proces
and my morals always kick in.

So I'll be trying 1 or 2 Layers of Falco, depending on how it reacts to it.
There is simply no alternative to the H3 kick when FH looping ...

and i don't like the quality control of the regular H3. This one is cheaper then the provincial ...

Factory tuning is also boosting, only difference is who's doing it. Btw, I don't think Nittaku H3 needs boosting at all.

Below are my experience with tacky chinese rubber, all played with boosting:
i. H3 ( commercial )
ii. NeoH3 ( Commercial + Provincial + National + various degree of hardness )
iii. 729 Battle 2 ( Commercial + Provincial + various degree of harness )
iv. H2 provincial mid hard
v. neoH2 commercial mid hard
vi. Skyline 2 provincial mid hard
vii. Skyline neo3 commercial mid hard
vii. H3-50

I have stopped using chinese rubber after my coach advised they are not suitable for me. I have now settled for Donic ( ESN ) rubber & is a happy happy boy.

Comparison between these rubbers? Spin, Speed and throw angle and/or control? Please

I’ve played the 1.8mm Turbo blue.

The topsheet is of much higher quality than DHS provincial H3. It’s tacky and very grippy.

The sponge is very, very hard. I had to boost it with 4 layers of Seamoon oil.

After the boosting, wow it feels like TG2.

I played both Turbo Blue (TB) and DHS National Blue sponge H3. Both are boosted.

TB gives you more control in short game. It allows you swing hard with confidence. I love it so much that I bought another two sheets.

Warning, if you have played TG2, it means you must commit a proper swing in every stroke, or TB will hit the net.

Spin comparison between these? Speed?

I draw this diagram to clarify this issue.

Assumption:
  • TG2 = TG2 blue sponge 40 degree boosted with 3 layers of Seamoon
  • H3 = Neo National H3 40 degree boosted with 3 layers of Seamoon
  • H8 = H8 hard, no boosting

Low impact, TG2 reigns in spin due to its hard top sheet, and H8 reigns in speed.
Both H8 and H3 are more linear than TG2 across the spectrum.
TG2 is really slow even after boosting (great for short game), but its top gear (spin and speed) beats even the more expensive National H3. It's evidenced in Xu Xin's FH before age of 25. Even Ma Long back then could not rival Xu Xin's FH.

What about Hurricane Pro Turbo Blue? How does it compare in terms of spin?

Just received it today.
Feels heavy as ***
And even harder then a regular H3.

Still waiting for my blade to arrive.
Will try it, if it´s not my cup off tea I´ll stick to rakza Z or rakza z hard
My bet is that you will stick to Rakza.

NB: If it is too heavy you can use it as a training rubber to build up arm strength say, when playing against robot or rebounding board.

In fact, if you get the 1.8mm version it's easy enough to break in the sponge without boosting. I've tried my 1.8mm with and without boosting. Boosting definitely help make the catapult effect more dramatic. But the added weight . . . . . .

I haven't tried my 2mm version yet as I am isolating.

Hey Duke, I’m interested in why you say Turbo blue doesn’t need boosting - you’ve used this rubber so I value your opinion.

Given that H3 is generally considered in need of boosting (certainly over 39 deg) and that turbo blue is 43 deg, why would it not need boosting to make it playable?

Not duke but, I t’s not a dead rubber. That’s why you don’t need boosting. Also not slow in my opinion and it’s also spinny. You can certainly boost it, but I also think it’s playable without it.

Well, when I tried it the idea was to use it without boosting to replace the normal version of H3 I had, and it played great so I just didn't even try to boost it, also it's already pretty heavy like others have mentioned, so boosting was a no go for me back then (was aiming for a sub 190g paddle).

Also, what @ricospin said.

Thanks Duke, given I would be viewing it in the same way, may I ask why it was not a successful replacement for H3? I find myself returning time and again to H3 in some form having tried others like H8, D09C etc.

Wrighty - have you tried Battle2? I went back to it last night and felt great. It might be because my sheet of D09c is finished but i forgot how nice it is, faster than H3 but still has that sticky feel

Thanks - I haven't tried it. May I ask your take homes on D09C and if you will use it again?

It was still way too heavy for my taste, and a bit too hard for me when playing matches. Sure I can loop amazingly during practice, and maybe a few balls when everything lined up just right during matches, but most of the time during match play you won't have too many such opportunities (perfect position, full stroke, etc). So now I'm back to H3 neo 39 degree.

Makes sense - thanks.

Having just last week put a 40d neo H3 back on I felt immediately at home and more comfortable than with H8 or D09c.

I have a sheet that still has a bit of life but I don't think it will be on my main blade. Mainly as im going to try a different style over the summer.

I like it on FH - its got great spin and touch for the short game, I couldn't get on with it on backhand as needs a full swing and I just don't have the confidence on my backhand. Is it 'good' enough for the cost? Probably not for me/my level - but i like it
