I am about to build a new Cho Daeseong TMX Pro setup and have already decided on DHS Hurricane 3 Neo Blue Sponge Pro for forehand. I am contemplating Omega 7 Pro for backhand as I love Cho Daeseong and want to have his setup and I think O7P would fit my game nicely (intermediate two-wing loop style). However, I am slightly concerned about durability of this rubber. Anyone have any thoughts on this rubbers lifespan? I hope at least 6 months

I was more concerned for it's performance even when brandnew compared to its durability.
But it's lifespan is normal for ESN rubbers as it relies on the sponge to create spin. The topsheet is too soft for you to do brush heavy strokes.

If you can I recommend D05 but if you can't use it well on backhand, O7P will work fine.

D05 is twice the price of an O7P that I can buy. What kind of performance issues are you referring to by chance?

O7P lasts a long time. Theres people at my club that play 6-10 hours a week and maybe change it every 8 or so months. If the O7P feels soft for you, the O7A (Asia) might be better. It isnt as hard as it says it is, more like 50 degrees.
I actually need some softer rubber for my BH, O7P is a 47.5 degree. This is great news thank you for this

Keep in mind that pros don’t use commercial versions and pros’ ESN and Butterfly rubbers are very different. In this case, what he’s using is harder and it may even be tacky, so don’t buy it just cause he‘s using that. If u genuinely wanna try it then sure. I’ve played with it and I think it lasts longer than average, but that’s true to the majority of xiom rubbers

I second that! Regardless of the Xiom rubber model, I would say that the average durability is 9 of 10. Just as an example, the actual Xiom Vega X I am using, it looks like new after around 60 hours of playing. Hard to find another brand with a better price/durability ratio ;)

My problem was that it felt even softer than 47.5. It "gave way" too much that I couldn't impart enough of my own quality. It was more the rubber overwriting the player's stroke.
I noticed that you seemed to want a harder version of O7P in another thread and many voted O7A. Did you end up trying it and if so did you like it?

That’s very promising

As long as you play in a clean facility the lifespan will be decent. If you play in a dirty hall it definitely sucks up a lot of grime.

For anyone interested in durability, this is my omega 7 pro after 2 1/2 months of usage on backhand side. I play around 8 hours per week

it looks cooked but still spins well, totally playable. nonetheless, its time to replace it. Will probably need like 4 sheets per year, not great but not bad in terms of durability

I find Xiom Vega series seems to have a lot of shrinkage and the top sheet looks like crap after a week or so. But the price is excellent. The performance does not really drop off that much even though the top sheet looks like crap.

I also got a sheet of Omega 7 Euro and it played well but shrunk way too much.

For the price, I really like Xiom rubbers in general. Good performance to price ratio for sure. But due to rubber shrinkage it is hard to transfer them from blade to blade, hence hurting my ability to EJ :) :)
