i still don't understand how they could cut out the Hugo HAL blade. it is just one of a kind... 😢 also hugo itself still plays with it?? really weird choice of them

I’m pretty sure his one is special and is nothing like the commercial cause it has carbon inside. Perhaps he’ll change to Hugo TMX or his current blade is exactly like that

No idea, but what I dont understand is:

- Hugo still uses Hugo HAL (I asked his management)
- Hugo HAL is still a bestseller (I asked 2 TT shops, it was their best selling Xiom blade)
- Among all Xiom players, Hugo is their biggest star and they use them for all the ads

And: now you cannot buy and use his signature blade because they cut it out.

It makes 0 sense

Highly doubt that, I remember that a few years ago someone got his hands on a blade that Hugo used in the Bundesliga, it was just a very heavy (96g+) Hugo Hal

Also, he was using C55 before it was released in tournaments, with Hugo Hal.
He could have just used Hugo TMX at this point too, but didnt

I saw a close-up pic somewhere on this forum of the plies of his blade that he was using during a match and it had carbon layers. It was a relatively new photo (2024)

I know which picture you mean, to me and few others it looked just like Hugo HAL

And why would he use old handles? He is the absolute star of Xiom and they would make him any handle, any colour he asks for. He could ask for same shape in new design. Of course it could be possible that he just used the old handle, but I dont see it.

In any case, if you love Hugo and you became an Xiom fan because of it, it is now impossible to buy his stuff.
That is just brilliant marketing

i also doubt that, i think when you play this blade yourself and see how hugo plays you know that his version must be the same but maybe just super heavy. it is not like the time when fan zhendong played the 'stiga infinity' and everybody was like: nooo wayyyy this blade is just to slow for the way he plays, so everybody knew that he will just play with his viscaria underneath that he played before. i don't think the same about hugo. i mean he played a 7ply before the HAL.

but let's see when the Hugo TMX comes out

Xiom don't announce discontinue blades, they just stop being available to their suppliers. Xiom dealers can actually see how many are available when they place an order, and when the number goes to zero, you just can't get them anymore.
This may be a simple supply or material shortage issue, which many manufacturers are facing on a range of items. Once the blade disappears from the public Xiom website, I think you can be pretty certain it's actually discontinued.

Could be but what’s the point of that? If he’s really using a commercial like version then it should be as similar as possible so more people will buy it. I’m not sure where I saw that pic because I believe it was at one of the wtt events thread

The black part. That is likely carbon woven with artificial material. The commercial version is white cause it’s only artificial (those +2 plies). Why do you think he got a completely new blade? He switched a couple months ago or maybe even before but it wasn’t out yet so they kept the handle. The Hugo SAL was discontinued early because it wasn’t popular likely because Hugo wasn’t using it.

my commercial version is also dark, because they use black limba instead of normal limba and if you play with it it gets even darker, so i can imagine this can make the confusion. the arylate in HAL is orange.

When is Hugo TMX Pro coming out?

Heard from Yogi_Bear that it'l likely be next year. The other rubbers/blades not yet released should be around the same timeframe.
