Haha, for a guy like me, it's a bit shameful that I don't even know how people measure frequency or what it means?

Do people use an app to measure frequency or something by bouncing the ball on the blade directly?

And is higher frequency meaning more hardness or stiffness or rebound?

I just noticed the w81 inner uses yellow alc but the w81 outer uses blue alc. What is the difference between these 2 alc?

yes just use app and drop the ball on tje blade. Im use android app "Sound Analyzer" or "Spectroid"
higher rate means stiffer blade

Wow. I didnt know there would be so much variation.

I see some 1200 viscaria and some 1400

some of that variation is due to ppl not using the same measurement condition, but you can expect ~50Hz variation between same model blades even from premium manufacturers because wood is not(yet) made in a lab.

Ended up with the Loki W81 outer instead of the Inner as well. Decent weight at 89g. Before I attempt to return it (I got the Yinhe Pro 01 for $27 so don't want to have two outers), I wanted to ask if it was worth keeping and if anyone had reviews for this blade?

Yellow is Aramid (i.e. Kevlar), and is often called KLC (like on the Pro 05, or the 729 Yellow advance). The blue is Arylate, often called ALC.

So does Long 5 also use Kevlar? Is the blue ALC stiffer than the yellow Kevlar?

Interesting my Sanwei 75 inner is blue, but the Pro 03 is yellow.

I don't have the 729 Yellow Advance. I have the blue but never tried yet.

DHS Long 5 is Arylate Carbon, ALC. I don't know which one is stiffer. You can see the differences here : https://www.sdcttblades.com/materials/fibers

Some of the measurements don't make sense though.

Everybody says the Yinhe Pro 01 is thinner and more flexy than the V14 Pro.

But in the spreadsheet, V14Pro has a lower frequency.

that's not true, mean of v14 is higher than pro 01.

It seems Pro 01 has a wide range. The lower ones are 1370, the higher ones are nearly 1500.

I guess I will measure my Pro 01 when it arrives and return it if its too high

Why does w968 have so much frequency variation? I thought these have the highest level of QC

Viscaria also has huge variation. From 1370s to 1550! We are literally talking about different blades here
