It would make a plot for a good movie if China and Japan exchanged junior WTTC champions and we could see what each country put the players through and where they ended up after the exchange program. Kihara was beating Kuai Man or at least competitive when they were juniors. Then they go through their national training programs and one comes out a terminator as an adult and the other looks like she belongs in the juniors again. Hopefully, Miwa won't look this bad against Kuai when they inevitably meet.

Gotta tip my hat to Hirano for going 1 on 3 at WTT CT Zagreb 2023 (3-1 LWS then 3-1 KM then 4-3 SYS), where Harimoto 1-3 KM (and then Ojio H. 2-3 KM) then Kihara 2-3 LWS then Hayata 0-3 SYS.

OTOH, it's difficult to imagine the only CNT player Ito beat in the last cycle happens to be KM at WTT SCT Ljubljana 2023.

Well, the first 3 sets were close but Groth collapsed in the last set. He doesn’t have that final push to close games against consistent players. Although had he had a coach or had Harimoto not, the finals score would have probably been different
