Wow... I thought I had a lot of setups...
Main setups (all setups with H3N 39 OS on FH):
- 2x 729 Blue ALC with H3N 37 OS on BH
Test setups:
- 2x 729 Blue ALC, 1x Codexx EL Pro 52 (heavily boosted), 1x 729 Taichi 39 in/37 out on BH
- 1x Loki Telson CNF with Telson 100 on BH
Fallback/old setup:
- Yasaka Ma Lin Extra Offensive with H3 39 OS and H3 37 OS
And a lot of other blades without rubbers... Persson Powerplays, V14Pros, TSP/Victas Swat, Butterfly Falcima, Telson Speed...
Wow Four x 729 Blue ALC blade, is it more bouncy or less bouncy than Yinhe V14Pros in your experience ?

Thank you sir.
Best regards,

How many set ups do I own in total?

Don't ask.

How many set ups do I regularly play with?

Ummm...about ten.

How many do I seriously play comp with?

Two.

How many incomplete set ups do I have?

Christ I hate to think...

PS: Id don't care what anyone else says. If you haven't bought:

- a $1,600 drum sander to better sand the playing surfaces of your blades,

- a $3,500 fiber laser engraver just to create a small brass logo plate for the the bottom of a handle,

- over $5k in premium outer veneer woods in the past six months,

- and if you haven't spent over two years of your life researching wood biology at the cellular level to better understand blade performance

- or spent over 18 months trying to secure samples of exotic alternate timbers that might be viable alternatives to Kiso Hinoki ....

...then you're not a real EJ.

(Christ help me .. 🤦🤦🤦🤦)
You're in a different league altogether. This is the children's section.

@Grumms

how would you rate the outer blades of yours and what did you think about the loki rxton 9 CNF blade? looks like an interesting composition with CNF and basalt interwoven

as for the thread:
2x xiom hugo hal with the same rubbers as in my profile
1x loki kirin 5 with loki rxton 9 and yinhe long pips just for fun and train against, since we basically have no pips player in our club rn.

i had a short EJ phase when i wasn't happy with my allwood blade anymore and tried a lot of stuff and had a lot of different blades like 7ply and outer carbon, till i found the perfect blade and since then i sticked with it and sold everything else or gifted to kids. but i never had an inner carbon blade so still a lil bit curious about that :p

Best regards,

Depending on store three to four 729 Blue ALC = half a Viscaria in Germany ;)
V14Pros are "light" 87g and 88g, the 729 Blue ALCs in use are all over 90g. V14Pro have a thinner top ply, ALC kicks in earlier and they are overall a bit faster. 729 Blue ALC feels a bit softer and I find it easier to get spin on the ball (maybe because of the handle and/or weight balance).

If the Rxton 9 CNF is similar to my Telson CNF than it should feel a lot woodier than typical outer carbon blades. Definitely slower with low input power but it flexes and speeds up quite a bit when hit hard. A bit too non-linear for me.

I'm also interested in 729 Blue ALC. Would you say it's soft despite being an outer carbon, or generally soft?
BTW, have you tried the 729 Yellow ALC (inner)? Or the blue or yellow ADvanced models?

On Aliexpress they cost only 18 euros, so I might buy both!

Soft despite being an outer carbon.
Blue Advance and Crazy Victory 1 are on my list or maybe the national version (729 NB49) if I can find a good deal.
No Inner carbon blades for me. My BH doesn't like them (at least the ones I could try) ;)

I have the following blades, but not complete set ups. I alternate between them very month or so. I am still trying to have that one set up that I will play with for a long time. The rubbers these days on these are mostly Glayzer 09c FH, Hurricane 3 neo provincial, Fastarc G1 BH. have also tried a few other rubbers. Am mostly trying new rubbers these days than blades, as am more or less set on the blades I want to play with.

1. Outer Carbon ALC - Viscaria, ZQH AY90, Andro Synteliac VCO
2. Inner Carbon - Hurricane King, Andro Trieber CI off

Blades that I have stowed away and don't use anymore.
1. Clipper CR China
2. Nittaku Acoustic
3. Stiga Celero wood (One of the better blades that helped me develop strokes)

Currently have these playable:
1 "the olde batte" Appelgren Allplay, Rakza 7 both sides
2 "league play" Yinhe Pro 01 w/ H3 Neo and AK47 Red
3 "curiosity kills the wallet" Victas Koji Matsushita Offensive w/ Dianchi D and AK47 Yellow

Then I have a broken Sanwei 75 Inner which I'm converting to pommel grip because I want to see what the wingspan idea is about.
And I've recently sold a Clipper and an Offensive Classic. The VKMO I'm still on the fence about - I don't particularly like it but might keep it as a Long Pips blade.
One year later:

Primary bat: Innerforce Layer ALC, 87g flared, FH G1 and BH C1
Secondary bat: Timo Boll ZLC, 88g flared, FH G1 BH C1

Third is a modified Waldner Senso carbon. Currently holds H3N prov OS 39 and H3N 37. I have not played with its current setup at all but it's a good bat without any leftover resale value.

I've thrown away the S75 and archived the Appelgren, sold the VKMO.
The Pro 01 is for sale, I have also tried a Pro 05 which is also for sale.
I also had a Korbel EU (sold) and a Japan (for sale) and a Waldner Legend Carbon (sold) in the meantime. Oh and last, I have a Gergely 21 FL which is pretty battered. I don't see it being sold or used.

Butterfly blades have impressed me, particularly the innerforce and boll ones. Korbel Japan is a beauty but there's something just not quite right about it for me.

Korbel is a bit outdated for .modern table tennis, not saying it can't work but given the importance of modern blocking, and how the modern rubbers produce spin, using it is swimming uphill and might require you to relearn blocking feeling if you choose a faster racket later after using Korbel for a while.

a true TT player need more than one.

Wang Chuqin is a very classic example.

On my personal note; I knocked my main blade on the table during this weekend game during the group stage and the rubber sort of partially came off. ( SK7 with T05 FH / D80 BH ). It was the D80 that came off partially.

Luckily I brought my second set-up and used it all the way to the finals. ( Spare: Falcima with R48 FH / T25 BH )

I hardly play modern table tennis though  I am just above bottom league where nobody really plays anything conventional
