I've been through this many, many times before because of my health. This time it was due to an elbow injury that really prevented me from training. I'm hoping to put out more content as part of my journey back, but just in general to share experiences and ideas I have about table tennis.

My main motivation is to get in shape so I can make a trip to Bristol to go and see Dan and exact some revenge... ;) haha

Hi Matt, sorry to hear about your injuries and such but I am sort of a fan of your name already having consumed table tennis information in different channels since the Olympics 2024. Best of luck!

Here is a topic worth pondering about, changing playing hand. Would you do it - start all over again with the basics using your other hand?

Haha I don't think so, my injury is all good now it was a short term thing. My health is more of a roadblock for me than physical injuries. I'm left handed so changing to right hand would be a bit of a downgrade imo ;)

What are your other motivations to fight back? Were you training a lot towards a goal before the elbow injury set you back?

No honestly I don’t really have any huge motivations it’s just important for me to stay in the game as it ties everything together. Playing is ultimately the core of my passion for the game ☺️ I did my time, played some international, enjoyed the experience. I would like to be able to keep up if I go on trips to China, Japan etc and I go to play, or if I do exhibitions. Maybe if I can get back to tournaments that would be fun too.

Got it - so the vlog about the journey back is basically about getting back to playing the game enough to reach/maintain your old level?

Enough to reach a reasonable level, finding my old level has been a challenge I have failed at for almost ten years with my health issues. But one can only try right?! 😊
