Maybe Sali is really ZYL posting in disguise as a Polish man. The retirement/unretirement dates match!exactly, but I see you are always in form.

And Dima. Don't forget Dima.Training with Lin works for him.
Do you mean LYJ? Where does Kao train with Lin?Training with Lin works for him.
Not entirely related to your comment but her mentality is mature beyond her years.Hana Goda continues to play puzzling table tennis. After getting trounced 11-1 in the first game, she goes on to win the next game. Second time in a few months I've seen this happen.
Then loses 11-1 again in 3rd game, and comes back to fight a hard 4th game losing 10-12.
Don't think I've ever seen a girl with such wildly varying performance in the same match. Hope she figures out how to keep those throwaway games under control in the future.
Sometimes, something about the side of the table (not necessarily physical) makes a difference. Maybe being able to see her coachHana Goda continues to play puzzling table tennis. If I remember correctly, ZYL, as they say, has a big grudge against Mima Ito...Chances of ZYL playing Ito seems rather slim in this tournament but that will be interesting![]()
100%. I had to go back and find what game I saw her get her mentality back after a rough game, and it was against He Zhuojia at Champions Frankfurt. Not entirely related to your comment but her mentality is mature beyond her years.
Kao doesn't train with LYJDo you mean LYJ? Where does Kao train with Lin?
I know that, but I was trying to hear the reasoning...Kao doesn't train with LYJ
they train in 2 different cities in Taiwan, and each have they own practice partners when on tour.
I'm waiting for it tooI know that, but I was trying to hear the reasoning...![]()
Of course she has beaten good players ranked below her. Everyone has. But she has also lost a lot, and if you cannot consistently beat those players below you while is never able to beat those above you, I think that says something about your ranking. She doesn't have to beat anyone above her. She just needs to fend off those ranked below her. How about the good players she's beaten ranked below her? Hirano, Batra, Diaz, JCH, KM, Miwa, Paranang, YXX, Nagasaki, Kihara, Szocs, JJH, Sawettabut, etc. I do think it's going to be tough for her to remain in the top 10 because a number of Chinese and Japanese players are looking to break into the top 10.
She figured out how to stay there consistently for so long by winning her matches thus maintaining her ranking... just wait until the other players figure out this secret trick!Of course she has beaten good players ranked below her. IRL I don’t think she will drop out of the top 10 soon, she figured out how to stay there consistently for so long (even if I don’t think she deserves it) and those Chinese players and Japanese players have been there forever.
The fact that she's had a high ranking for so long also says a lot about her. For what it's worth, she has beaten Miwa(WR#6) before as well as Odo (albeit in 2021). And of course the higher you go in ranking, the harder it is to beat those ahead of you. FWIW, she did have a really close match with Hina HayataOf course she has beaten good players ranked below her. Everyone has. | 9:11 11:9 11:9 8:11 6:11 11:4 11:13 | 3 - 4 | HAYATA Hina |
the crowd is waiting for the right timing to call for her retirement againGoing back to Zen Nihon Semi-Finals to now, Hayata is now 14-0 in her last 14 games, with 3 of the 4 opponents being Odo, Miwa, and Mittelham.
Has she shown this sort of consistency before in the past? Just over a month ago, she was looking a bit compromised and in mediocre form, which makes this current run really hard to believe.
Kao's switch to NUZN and Rasanter seems to be working for him
It’s still questionable why this is only the case with her……
The top ten right now consists of the top Chinese (nothing to say about them) Hayata, Ito, Odo, Miwa, and SYB in some order. I’ll stop talking about Miwa and Hayata but even Ito and Odo have played better over the past year or two: Odo has already won WTT Champions since recently when she burst out, and Ito managed not to lose to like >10 foreigners a year even if she’s no longer that consistent. She also wouldn’t lose to two Pan American players in one tournament. (It’s also not that one tournament I’m bugging Shin about) So SYB hasn’t really proven she’s better than the other top ten.
Alright fine, she’s ranked at the bottom of Top 10 anyways. But Now take a look at some of the players below her at WR 10-20: SXY, Hirano, Szocs, Kihara, CIC
Which one of those doesn’t deserve to be ranked higher than SYB, purely looking at performance and not looks?
They either are far more consistent (SXY, Kihara) or have shown their true capabilities by beating real higher ranked players (Hirano, Szocs)
Again, you cannot prove your ranking is legit if you can never beat anyone above you yet keep losing to people below you. It’s as simple as that.
