1. Use your legs' explosive power.
2. Accelerate the arm swing on contact with the ball.
3. Tighten your core muscle.

Use Tenergy 😉

Do a thousands of repetition of the stroke, perfectly under the adequate coach guidance, implement it in the game thousand of times, make a thousands mistakes - and you will have some kind of a forehand with time (no strong guarantee here) - I guess there is no other way 😏

If you want pure spin, work on your slow opening loops. Let the ball drop and really brush it upwards over the net.
Learn to make that movement faster, accelerate through the point of contact to hold the ball ever so slightly longer, and the amount of spin will be really good.

If you're talking fast and spinny, you can start by driving the ball with a lot of impact and just a tiny bit of closure on the angle.
Then work on adding a motion like you're slapping someone in the back of the head but instead of hitting through the head you're just adding a bit of friction.

Last step is adding body

The only way to have crazy top spin is to properly utilize the full kinetic chain of movement…it starts from your feet, to your legs, to your hips, to your core, to your elbow to your forearm, wrist and hand.

And like sleep master said, you need to do it thousands of times and also have someone qualified enough to tell you which part you’re doing wrong.

That is going to account for the vast majority of the spin you create. The last five or 10 percent comes from your rubber and paddle.

With H3 you can easily hit a little thicker though, the topsheet works different than a grippy tensor so it won't shoot off when you hit it with a little bit more impact.
I actually found H3 and Dianchi D to slip on a really thin and fast contact like I would do with a tensor.

I'm not blessed with super fitness or the best technique,my timing on the other hand is really good so I'm capable of of creating a very slow but super spinny ball that's so hard to play against !! My game is all about variation of speed and spin !!! To me table tennis is like a game of chess!!! Staying relaxed and focused is so important. Makes the difference between good players and champions!!!

Hello, Ive been wondering on how to give crazy strong topspin (forehand of course) do you guys have any tips?
It is a combined effect from all the different sources of power all working together in a well coordinated and tightly timed sequence.

Imo from my journey:
1. I had to figure out how to generate heavy topspin just with the forearm and fingers. Penhold is different to shakehand but for me I use the index finger and thumb lever arm combine with forearm pronation + forearm snap to really spin the ball. You have to experiment a lot with it.

2. Then you have to add in the upper body and the lower body to really amplifies the effect from the forearm and fingers. You have to find the Goldilocks timing that works to maximise the topspin generated.

3. Add in footwork to deal with balls to your left (pivot step), right (crossover footwork), front (bring left foot forward), and back (bring right foot backwards).

Some ppl go from step 2 to 1 which works also. I also see a lot of ppl who only did step 1 which they always try to spin the ball with arm only which is highly limited in power, spin and consistency. There are a lot of ppl who only did step 2, and they have great power and structure but miss a lot due to the lack of spin amplification in the forearm and fingers.
