I only started watching TT a few years ago. But it became obvious to me pretty quickly that there's almost nobody in the sport more respected, liked, and celebrated as a player and a person than Timo Boll.

The man exudes class and good vibes. T-Mobile really dropped the ball not signing him as a brand representative.

Farewell and thanks to a legend of the sport.

A true gentleman, and one of the outstanding sports careers of recent decades. Retired now from the world tour and Düsseldorf, it's clearly time for Timo to follow Messi to the US and join MLTT.

A huge missed opportunity to sponsor their inspiration

He played his last PRO match on Saturday unable to beat Jorgic but playing very well! His team Borussia lost the Champions League finals, so it was not the perfect ending but close enough.

My hope now is that somebody will broadcast the promised golf play with Jörgen Persson. Would be an excellent opportunity to listen to some chit chat from their respective careers.

We have still not quite reached the end, Düsseldorf is in the Bundesliga playoffs final vs Ochsenhausen, happening 15th June. That will be it for real then. Won't be easy to get a crowning conclusion to his career there either. Despite Düsseldorf being 4-time defending champions i would give the edge to Ochsenhausen this year. That is if they can field their strongest lineup with Hugo, Gauzy & Togami. The first two also bidding farewell to their club and the league.

Why are they leaving the league?

Why are they leaving the league?
Hugo wants to focus on his international career:
Table tennis cup winners TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen have to cope with the departure of star player Hugo Calderano – at least for the time being. As announced by TTF, the world number six three will focus "entirely on his international singles career" and will no longer play in the TTBL next season. The Brazilian, who had already played there from 2014 to 2021 and returned in 2023, will at least remain part of the training group in Ochsenhausen.

"Ochsenhausen has been dear to my heart for the past eleven years and will remain so, which is why it's hard for me to say goodbye." said Calderano.
Gauzy is going to play in France for Hennebont, in his own words:
"It's a very emotional farewell for me. Twelve years ago, I came to Ochsenhausen with my father as a young player, and at that time I didn't know that these would be the best years of my life. I was allowed to wear the blue jersey of this special town and club with great pride.

We have won three titles during this time, and I have been able to develop into one of the best players in the world. But now it is time for me to take on a new challenge, to gain new experiences, and to develop further as a player.

It was a very difficult decision, as the club and the fans have grown very dear to my heart and are like family to me.

Thank you for your tireless love and support during this wonderful, educational, and successful chapter. I will continue to be a part of this club forever. Ochsenhausen remains my home, and I will continue to live here with my family and train locally. So this is not a goodbye, but only a see you later."
Both came to Ochsenhausen as young players that grew into integral parts, big loss that will be impossible to replace short term. Togami will take the leading role and the club will have to once again rely on young talents to build up:
Our philosophy has always been to give the younger generation opportunities. We did the same thing twelve or thirteen years ago when we started with Simon and Hugo. At the time, I said, “Dear colleagues, give the boys your trust and the time they need,” and five years later, that was rewarded with titles. It's the same today.

Hugo wants to focus on WTT and Gauzy is gonna play in the Pro A league in France, but will keep living and training in Ochsenhausen.
Is Hugo gonna move back to Brazil or keep training in Germany but not playing in leagues?

He will stay here, some more quotes from Hugo:
“I've had a great time in Ochsenhausen since 2014, and it's not over yet,” said Hugo Calderano. ”The TTF and the Liebherr Masters College have helped me a lot to develop as a player and as a person. My heart will always beat for the TTF.” The Brazilian, who now speaks almost perfect German, explains: “I need to focus on my career and international tournaments now. That's why I think this is the right decision for me and the club. I will continue to live and train in Ochsenhausen because the structure here is ideal and I can continue to improve here.”

With Hugo and Simon both leaving TTF but still deciding to stay at Ochsenhausen to train at the same place where TTF train do these players have to start to pay training fees to train there or since they have been with their team for a long time training fees will be free?
