Donic Bluegrip

Hello everyone, lately I've been curious of the equipment from Donic, specifically the Blue series. I asked my coach what the good rubbers from Donic are and he said Bluegrip.

How is it, for those who know? The speed, spin, control, and of course, what Donic is known for, durability (not in a good way)

p/s how is it against Tenergy

never played with Tenergy, but played a lot with Bluegrip C2 & S1. good rubbers, C2 is a bit on heavier side, but it didn’t bother me. it surprised me when I learned C2 has 55 sponge because it plays softer, a lot softer. spin is great, control for the speed on offer is great. but - unfortunately they don’t last long, for me, half a season and I play 4-6 hours week …

That's nice to know, having it on cart then!

thanks for this. when I was around 12 years old my dad (he was a tt coach) got me a Friendship rubber and put it on my backhand, because I had some problems with contact and control and this rubber helped me a lot back then (even though at the time I hated it so much). maybe I will go down the chinese road again, but to be honest, I find modern hybrids enough of a reminder … 😅

What are their qualities? I prefer easy speed for my BH, so that's the main factor
Spin is about the same.
S2 is slightly faster. Dragon F lives a little longer. Neither is very tacky.

I would say for RPB you should use a little slower rubber. You have excellent opportunity to add your own speed contra old PH backhand…

Man rn I have Tenergy on it cuh

it's just my style to hit flatter with RPB, so the extra tensor would help :D

As long as the spin is good and has control, it works

Suit yourself, Tenergy is suicide, You hit a long, don’t you. You can’t win the point if You can’t keep the ball on the table…

J1 = 55°
J2 = 52.5°
J3 = 50°

Boosted, J2 or J3 might be nice BH rubbers for me. Otherwise, it's too hard for me.
well ... I always thought I am more of a soft rubber player and then my dad surprised me with a test blade and it had Bluegrip C2 and S1 which where totally unknown to me at the time and I played for a couple of days when I realised that C2 is actually ESN55 ... and I played with it really well, so some rubbers might surprise you as they play quite softer. same is with Xiom C55 ... plays nothing like 55 ... ;) wouldn't even think of boosting it as it might become a slingshot after that ...
