Good point. I forgot about that. I think he will still play the National Games after getting VP of CTTA but I reckon it will be the last thing he can do. I don’t think he could play CTTSL while being VP of CTTA.

What happen to the coach Qin Zhijian 3rd on the left. Wasn’t he the current VP. What is his role now. I thought he was next in line after LGL?

QZJ was likely next in line if LGL serves out his term normally. LGL’s abrupt resignation signals some unhappiness from above and as a close ally of LGL, QZJ is not the right one for the job

WLQ is the head of Shanghai TTA and FZD has been a member of Shanghai TT team for a couple of years. WLQ provided much needed support and resources for FZD during last year’s Olympic Games While WCQ got the main attention of national team In terms of training and fitness resource.

WLQ may not have won gold in Singles but he saved FZD from collapse in the Olympics. My respect for WLQ has gone up significantly.

Nepotism is an interesting word, cos there's barely any guy better suited for the job in terms of chops, experience and legacy than Liu. You're welcome to dispute this of course. Maybe you're in the know of something that I don't.

So if you deem this as the end of Beijing's nepotism, what's the alternative. Cos surely WLQ and ML rising to the top this quickly isn't due to their track record in national management. So is this Shanghai Nepotism? Or Shanghai plus a slice of Beijing/Liaoning cos Ma Long is affiliated with Beijing and is from Liaoning? It's obviously a call of displeasure from the GAS, so still some conniving of some sorts.
