What happens when you hand a mystery bat to a 5x US National Champion?

I took on Kanak Jha in an epic challenge at the Grenzau Table Tennis Club in Germany!

Can Kanak still dominate? Or would the mystery bat level the playing field? 🏓

Finally! I love that he switched it... I say it all the time, Glayzer is the best BH rubber in the world... He's gonna stay with it the next season, you'll see...

Lol, Kanak has destroyed the Glayzer brand by picking Rozena as the faster rubber for his forehand.

BTY rubber chart has always showed Rozena as faster than Glayzer, so not a surprise

I have played both, Rozena is faster, Glayzer has more grip and is spinnier, so Kanak is right on when he says Rozena is more powerful as he equates power with speed. Kanak's usual setup is double D05, so he preferred Rozena FH to give him more speed and it's closer to his usual equipment.

A pro that plays D09 might prefer Glayzer

You can’t discount the fact Kanak is a koto user and has been for years with TB ALC and now Super Vis.

Boll Mezzoforte is a limba outer.

If it was Falcima in his hands instead (koto outer), I would tend to think it would feel more familiar and the adaptation process to be quicker.

What he described as “faster, more power” could also mean “more responsive” which could be another reason why he decided to put Rozena on the forehand side.

I know myself as a koto user I appreciate the responsiveness and crispness of the wood.

The last counter forehand down the parallel with Rozena was ridiculous though!

Kanak as a junior always had more feeling with the backhand than the forehand and it is natural for you to need to adjust the side of the racket that comes less naturally to you. I suspect his forehand is more sensitive to rubber changes than his backhand.

He doesn't like hybrids and had a short lived time with 09c, staying pretty loyal to D05 on the forehand since its release but changing from T19 to D05 on BH. Although, harder than public version.

This video feels a lot like a sponsored promotion for Butterfly's entry to mid level range of equipment... the mystery bat was not chosen so mysteriously.
I didn't even know TB Mezzoforte even exists in this world. Thanks to the video, I checked out Butterfly’s lineup, and it turns out there’s even an Ovtcharov S2.

Now just decide that you want to try it out or recommend it to beginners at your club and complete the circle
