Harimoto seen using new butterfly rubber

Butterfly's official website has published an article regarding the change in the description of sponge thickness.
This implies that zyre's sponge will be thicker than ever before

What is a reason to show US scratched rubber ?
I think they probably needs to stabilize the quality of topsheet.
Top players didnt care because they received ton of them, but how you will pay 100€ for scratched rubber 😄

Looks like a shitty glue and cut job, not something you'd use in promotion.

On the other hand if this still performs so good even with the glue job... 😂
I think IT looks like production error. Red rubber looks better

Looks like they spent the advertising budget on a makeup artist for Togami, and told him to just bring his own racket...

to me, it looks like a wet topsheet and was cleaned (so that mark is likely chemical / wet)

This remind me of old rubbers like Tibhar Makss or Donic Supersonic that back in the days were 2.6mm sponge.. it was not market success at time..

It was ok that time 2.5mm rubbers at max thickness.. I remember Sriver Max was 2.3..

German rubbers like Rapid, Resto.. were 2.5mm if I'm correct... Maybe Mark V, Coppa too.

So that time go from 2.5 to 2.6 was not a big deal.

Nowdays with 2.1 (BTY) to 2.7, it's a very agressive move.
I used Donic Supersonic and Supersonic SG40 back in the day. The thick, soft sponge worked well with speed glue. Maybe the new rubber is designed to work with booster since booster isn't recommended for other Butterly rubber.

©Tamasu Butterfly came up with a clever way to play a powerful game without a booster. They created a combination of very thick sponge and very slim topsheet. Brainy solution, indeed.

Companies have been doing it for almost a decade now. It was their first solution when the ball changed to make the topsheet more elastic. The problem was that back then these early thin topsheets were brittle and lacked durability. It's nothing new.
