If you aren’t familiar with this term, a “Streets Won’t Forget” player is someone who wasnt a huge success or consistently elite player but just had moments of brilliance or something special about them that fans absolutely adored (personality, particular skill). It’s often used when talking about soccer players, but I’ve realized there must be some good “Streets Won’t Forget” table tennis players. A few that come to my mind:

Fang Bo 2015 WTTC, literally his only shining star moment
Lim Jonghoon 2023 Champions Xinxiang, he was so good but the spine injury ruined his game ngl
Prime Zhao Zihao when he was a top 30 star

Any others that stand out to y’all?

ill go with the obvious one, koki niwa, never really achieved much but his chop blocks will be remembered forever.

i wasn't around for this era and dont know how good he actually was but watching Koji Matsushita blows me away every time. he makes chopping look so fun and i often mess around doing it just to try to copy him.
try not to smile watching this

Kreanga! In his prime, that backhand was a thing of beauty and so much fun to watch
Kreanga was a top player in Europe for well over a decade on and off... but your pick is your pick.

As a penholder i think Xu Haidong is pretty underrated.

I think CNT doesn't really know what to do with him, his style is unusual. For some time they tried to make him new Xu Xin, for some time they tried more Wang Hao-esque style, but neither of this approaches worked. He is powerfull, he has great feeling and he has some intelligence. It's just like he lack confidence, in my opinion because of such drastic changes in the game model.

But i also don't really know what will be the best approach for him. But he deffinetely has much more tallent than Xu Fei.

Eugene Wang. Entertaining style, tough as nails competitor. Watch a little of this match and you'll realize there's no way he can win. Then keep watching.
