Good news I loved that one when I read it, hope the US Smash will follow as well.
WTT USA office is opened.
India and USA is the 2 major markets for growth,

imo, USA has enough talent to host big events - they do it every year for a long time already.
WTT handle these events themselves, so you can't blame Americans for what went wrong in Vegas.
The venue problem is just weird though.

never the less, LA 2028 is near, and there surely will be more WTT events in the build up.
Not to mention, one club in the USA is hosting more WTT Youth (not counting other events) than few countries combined.

and in the business world, Africa is the place for growth too.
I don't think you fully understand what the term growth means.

you think Europe/China can grow table tennis any further?
its a blessing if it isn't shrinking

It was known WCQ would skip Europe Smash when WTT announced the top 5 on July 6. Some speculate it is for higher education and/or rest.

Wang Chuqin will skip the WTT Europe Smash in Sweden next month

Europe Youth Smash – Sweden 2025

In the run-up to the Europe Youth Smash – Sweden 2025 tournament, the brightest and strongest young table tennis players are ready to make their mark on the world stage, preparing for the competition to be held at the Baltiska Hallen arena in Malmö, Sweden, from August 21 to 24, 2025.
The Europe Youth Smash – Sweden 2025 tournament, featuring athletes from 30 countries across five continents, has attracted some of the most promising stars in the sport.
World Table Tennis (WTT) announced the introduction of a new youth tournament category with the launch of the WTT Youth Grand Smash in 2025 at the Singapore Youth Smash 2025. This new category will become the pinnacle of youth table tennis, featuring singles competitions for boys and girls under 15 and under 19. Each tournament brings together the top 32 young talents in the world, competing for ITTF Table Tennis World Ranking points and a share of the USD 20,000 prize pool — the largest in youth table tennis.
Building on the success of the WTT Youth Star Contender Singapore 2024, the WTT Youth Grand Smash tournaments, where possible, are integrated into the WTT Grand Smash events calendar. This enables young athletes to compete alongside the world’s elite players, giving them invaluable experience and inspiring the next generation of table tennis enthusiasts.
In addition to providing a first-class competitive platform, the WTT Youth Grand Smash will serve as a testing ground for innovative playing systems and other elements that may shape the future of WTT. The introduction of these tournaments is part of a broader restructuring of the WTT Youth Series, aimed at maximizing engagement and creating opportunities for young players.
More detailed information about the tournament, including the distribution of the prize pool and world ranking points, can be found at Europe Youth Smash – Sweden 2025.

I actually meant Lin Shidong - sure the draw presents more information. It's an invitation to prognosticate in advance of seeing the draw.

LSD hasn't been his usual self since losing to LJK at Asian Cup 2025. It was the closest-ever against LYJ at WTT CS Yokohama 2025.

Harimoto beating Wang injected more excitement into this event lol. Now we have a four way race between Lin, Hugo, Harimoto, and Felix. Anyone have a winner chosen already?
I'm wondering about LJK in this equation, he is a top 4 seed after all. Disappointing US Smash, although there were quite some weird things going on in that event. Then his injury, had to skip Yokohama, will be interesting to see where he's at.
