He should go to the Pro A then, as the FFTT has now killed its own rule not allowing athletes to play in 2 different leagues organized by an ITTF-affiliated association in a team event. Basically, that means he won't be able to play ANY Bundesliga 1 + ETTU game after being involved in the Chinese National Games, if he plays the team events. The CSL being held in July most of the times that's not a problem. That means no Bundesliga play-offs + UCL semis and finals. he'll play in Germany from September to November, December at best.

That's what happened to Sun Wen this season. The Bundesliga have way more exclusive laws than the Pro A, making the Pro A being more attractive.
I said that, no one believes me, maybe because I didnt care about calendar....

FZD checked out the club and discussed their future plans. Someone on reddit claimed he will play the first three matches, but I haven't seen confirmation from Saarbrücken yet.

EDIT: confirmation once again on social media instead of just posting it on their website and then everywhere else. Get your tickets early if you want to see FZD live.

It will be so nice to see him live. I wonder if we will be able to see him in ETTU games. If so, there is a very high chance I might be able to see him in games that are somewhat local to me.
I think he is planned for all competitions.

Press conference from Saarbrücken attended by FZD

Fan happy to join the team. They have practiced together and are preparing for the first match this Sunday. Franziska and the others want to make sure that he feels comfortable and they have as much fun as possible (including eating schnitzel lol). Winning titles hopefully will come to fruition. Fan is supposed to play six or seven times in the first half of the season. That includes league, German Cup and Champions League. He will play the first two league matches, one at home this Sunday and the other next week in Bad Königshofen, followed by two more matches in September on September 14 (league) and September 19 (German Cup, both at home. He is also expected to play in the top matches against Ochsenhausen and Düsseldorf in December. They managed to get a bigger venue for the match against the latter. Champions League draws aren't out yet.

He is honored to play in the 1. Bundesliga and wants to contribute to the club's goals. Adjusting to life here outside of matches will be a challenge, but everyone is kind and helping him with his new life. Hopes to grow as a person making such a big change.

More information from interviews with the club's manager I hadn't shared yet from a while back.

Tickets for the first two matches sold out in two days iirc, but 90% were bought by Asians with the majority flying in from China (they can the track the ticket billings). Some from Europe too. They don't know how they are going to fit in the local longtime fans. This is worrisome imo.

Ticket sales are up by 400%. They are trying to get a bigger venue which they managed at least for one match so far.

They hired a security firm for Fan.

They are planning to have Fan play more matches in the second half of the season.

they gonna sell this x3 the price

On the merch page of their site you can't even click to buy, you have to email them. Well, I did so last month to order one of those in black (or schwarz, technically) - and they replied something to the effect of "due to heavy demand there's a queue, we look forward to helping you sooner than later."

Was happy to patiently wait, but now see that Germany is one of 25+ countries essentially shutting off postage to the US:

This is now how I kindof regret not having a player there, to get me one.
but I can still maybe get one via the coach
I could get one in Frankfurt if the Tibhar stall is back, assuming they sell those or you know someone who is going to go to one of their matches and just buys it there.

I think they still deliver purchases below 100€?

I noticed in that article that some countries may continue to allow "letters and gifts up to $100."

If someone aus Deutschland wants to be each others' not-so-secret Santa, I'd be happy to send them rubbers of equivalent value as their gift. 😉

Last season was possible to see live on youtube for free, is it still the case? When I check ttbl website it seems like the yrequire subscription.

Anyone know if they changed this for this season?

They stopped the free yt streams for international viewers. Likely got greedy expecting some FZD fans to drop money on this.

Ok so now they just don't stream to youtube at all I guess? As it's not live right now from Sweden.

To bad, don't really want to pay that much for the ttbl :/

Exactly, sucks how they handled this. Basically went from "there is no real market outside the country for it, so might as well show matches for free" all the way to "just let them pay the same full price for a fringe German streaming platform". They could've marketed smth to international viewers that makes sense and keeps more attention on the league.

International viewers can't subscribe at all, full price or not - or has this changed?
