Pics of setup.
Recently switched from D09C 2.1mm FH and D05 2.1mm BH to Zyre 03 2.7mm both sides. Amazing set up. The flex of golden viscaria allows a decent amount of control with Zyre, but the increase in speed and flatter hits was something I was desiring and lacking in my game. The surprising thing is that the short game isn't all that different compared to my old setup. My shorts balls were popping up like I expected from such a fast rubber.

Ways my game has changed:
- I'm preemptively stepping away from the table more. I use to play more close to the table, but I play way more mid-range shots. The Zyre gives me the comfort, stability, and power that I struggled with D09C far away from the table
- pushes are aggressive and tend to land at baseline of opponent, no more wimpy short pushes like with D05, my pushes felt more like D80 and aggressive
- blocks are automatic, however the biggest thing is learning to close the bat angle. a lot of shots overshot the table simply I was not as used to closing the bat angle, once I adjusted, my blocks were automatic. Unlike D05 where you have to put effort into it to generate a high quality shot, my BH blocks were super comfortable and felt like D80, but if I slightly loop up, backhand loops against backspin were effortless
- I'm way more aggressive now. I just feel so confident in attacking so many more shots now. Because of this aggressiveness, I was able to beat much higher rated defensive players this past weekend simply because they could not match the speed on the 3rd ball attack
- playing way more wide-angle shots. don't know what it is about this rubber, but it felt so easy to hit wide-angle shots. i think the flatter angle and directness of the rubber allowed me to more accurately pinpoint where i wanted the ball to go

Other thoughts:
- counter-looping is so easy, this feels like T05H far away from the table on FH
- FH short game feels like D09C, but faster. BH feels like D80 with pushes
- BH feels like between D05 and D80, felt like the perfect in-between for me
- the ball can be a bit unpredictable at games (good and bad), there were times I was aiming towards mid or BH side, but it ended up on their FH. not sure how it happened, but it happened enough times that I noticed it was frustrating my opponent because my body language kept saying it was going towards BH, but went towards FH instead
- less forgiveness during the adjustment period. when i first started hitting with it, balls went long or into net a lot of times. i would say the margin of error is smaller than D09C or D05, but if you have the skill and technique to harness the potential, this rubber is amazing

Didn't think I would like having the same rubber on both sides since my FH and BH are different, but this rubber felts like the combination of T05H, D09C, D05, and D80 in different contexts and settings. Definitely a bit of an adjustment curve like learning to close bat angle on blocks.

Yeah I would love to see what a golden vis feels like
I, as as 1600 player, could not tell the difference between Viscaria and golden Viscaria -- one member of my university team used to be ranked #3 in USA, plays with golden Viscaria + H3 + D09c and he let me try it. It felt good for sure, maybe a bit better than the market version I tried from my other friend. My friend who plays with a market Viscaria + T05 is rated 2450 so if it's good enough for him I can't imagine that the golden is a huge step up.

Do you leave your $1000 bat in your bag whilst you're having a break? Or do you carry it around with you at all times?

There has been precedence.

$1000+ ?! Did it come with a 3 year/36,000 stroke warranty?
Maybe enhanced edge protection with the very much thicker sponge.

I was wondering, with the sponge at 2.7mm, wouldn’t it be very heavy? Or is the sponge very porous.

The sponge is porous but not extremely so. I found cut and glued weights for both my 2.5 and 2.7 to be around 49g so its not really light nor is it heavy

I reglued it yesterday to get it a bit smoother and the sponge is not as strong as Dignics in terms of unbreakability. But maybe I am not looking at it correctly lol...

Sponge on my 2.5 split all the way through about an inch around where I normally mishit on the edge, likely because I reglued it on a blade with a smidge of overhang. So I don't think its indestructible either

How much do you think the price of Tenergy line decrease after Zyre introduction. Also, would there be an introduction of a successor of the D09C? Like Zyre 09C? Knowing that Zyre 03 is a sort of blend with the spin of D09C, but with the speed of D05, would they come up with a closer to Chinese tacky rubber but spring sponge?

Also, maybe something like Zyre 03 Hard of FX would come up?
