stupid question: Can you glue two sponge together.

Just wondering has anybody heard of or try it. Glue two thin sponge together. I know it sound stupid. But let say I have a .5mm pip at home and a 1.0mm sponge by itself laying around, and I do not want to purchase another rubber due to cost, and if I don't like the thin sponge and don't want to go though the tedious task or removing the top sheet, can't I just glue two sponge together? Thanks for listening to this crazy idea. But I would really want to see if someone ever try it.

Pardon my ignorance, do they achieve that by gluing two sponge together or other method?

Feel free to construct sponge with a complex sponge sheet, as many layers as you please. ITTF does have no adequite expertise to detect those trashy materials. 😜

Hello, I am curious about this. on the packaging you can see ITTF on both rubbers: limitless and taichi. The rubbers + double sponge are approved or not?

Limitless... quality crab. Each sponge's thickness is not controlled, only the combined thickness. Also, heavy and smelly.

For the name of science and cheating play, you can try 0.5mm ultra demping sponge (for example kasfu) under hard rubber. Or 1mm elastic sponge under soft rubber. The other direction is legal — use of blade with soft top ply will give you "more sponge".
