True though
But the consistency of the Chinese is also something that we should take into consideration.
It works well with Harimoto because of his current passive playstyle?
My thoughts are like these pros are already fit and generating tons of power in their forehand swing, so zyre doesn't make sense there. But for backhand maybe it's a different story.

You sound like another poster here but I think you are much better informed. If we take your thoughts on power to the extreme, shouldn't pros be using the slowest equipment because of how much athleticism they have? It doesn't really work that way. H3 is an acquired taste and is for people who are used to the slower ball release and harder sponge. Do remember there was a time Dima tried H3 - didn't last more than a couple of months. And Dima is notorious for being one of the most powerful pros on the circuit.

Time/speed is always a factor at the highest levels and because threat/quality affects consistency (both for you and your opponent), consistency is never everything. Harimoto has been more aggressive with Zyre on his forehand and backhand than I remember previously, and for the obvious reason that even with his relatively slow blade, one shot can win the point more often now. Watching him against Peng, Peng looked really slow. And while Zhou Qihao looked better for sure, on some shots, Harimoto just put the ball past him, no questions asked.

I know a Nigeria pro (max was about 2600 USATT) who couldn't play his best game with 09c because over time, it made him injured because he was always looking for the speed - his results were much better with T05H. There are also top pros who will reject 09c out of habit (LYJ, Harimoto, Kanak, Togami etc.) because the slow ball quality doesn't fit their game. Quadri can't stand sticky rubbers, and he should fit your model, no? In fact, when I used 09c and Hurricane, my coach said that he wanted me to hit a faster ball and that my spin wasn't going to trouble good players but a faster ball likely would.

Even the Chinese have to deal with the tradeoffs inherent in using such rubbers (remember when Fan was struggling on those Tibhar tables against all those German League players) and it has never been really clear exactly what the properties of the H3 the top Chinese use is and how their boosting affects it. H3 ultimately is an acquired taste, if you used it as a child and got used to it and never found anything better, great. But I don't know many people who switch to it later in life and feel that it makes them much better, especially with this new ball that is incredibly hard to get moving. And because this ball is hard to get moving, Zyre appeals to a lot of players. The tradeoffs are real, but they are just tradeoffs.

Another solid win for Miyu Nagasaki. With the golden generation struggling, it'll be interesting to see if Miyu can grab an Olympic spot. Good start to 2026 for her.
I was surprised it went 5, the gap in fundamentals was larger than that. She has posed some serious questions to Winter, will be interesting to see whether Winter has any answers (not that she needs them in Europe unless Pavade becomes a beast and Polcanova can replicate).

What did I just watch? What should've been 2 penholders duking it out turned into a 1-sided slaughter. What a letdown.

Nah.

These two are nowhere near the same level.
Yes, in terms of major results. But Felix is still behind in H2H against QD, 3W4L after this.

Winter was lucky to not run into JNT players early or at all in a few crucial events for 2025. Put bluntly, she's overrated.

Winter didn't even get the chance to step-around here, let alone 3 years from now.

So Tamara speaks English with Sabine, but she speaks German with Ying Han...
I'll assume Sabine's English is better than Tami's German, but YH's English isn't very good...

Anyhow, Felix has far surpassed Dang and going forward, the rift between them is only going to widen.

I will refer you to the rankings. You can argue with the rankings.
